    This stand is fine for small diameter cymbals (maybe 17" max) I wouldn't put a heavy ride on it or hang additional toms off clamps attached to it. It would likely topple over. It is very light and when extended up high, a bit wobbly. Buy the medium stand weight stand for heavier cymbals and a heavy duty stand if you plan to hang drums off the stand. That being said, you can't beat Yamaha design, quality and price.

    Bought three of these boom stands to use for gigging due to their light-weight. Carrying a bunch of double-braced "Heavy-Metal" stands around just doesn't make sense! My arms and back are thanking me! The quality, tgood price, and functionality are perfect...
