Yamaha SLG100N Silent Nylon-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

iv classical guitars from almost all the major brands, and this classical is the best i ever tried. its greatly flexible with the strings. i can bend them just like a regular electric guitar. its also sounds nice and thick. it also uses headphones so you can go places with it and not bother everyone. and if you want to use it for a show you can with the aux input. you can even change tone of the guitar with the bass and treble knobs on the sides. it also has a switch for no reverb, a little reverb, or a lot of reverb. its just a great sounding guitar, its smooth, easy and thick sounding. GET IT!!!

After coveting this guitar for years, I finally found one used and snatched it up. Now that I have it, I wish I'd bought one sooner. The sound is wonderful and mellow; although it's not as good as my '64 martin OO-18C, it's a lovely tone, and with the tone controls and built in reverb considerably more versatile than the Martin. The simplicity, and modular design is a real boon, as I can take it places I wouldn't dare take the martin; How many guitars can you play in the car on long trips? The only thing I can complain about is that the bottom frame doesn't come off, so it's a little harder than it might be to pack it up, but it's still plenty portable. Thoroughly recommended, though maybe not for your Juliard recital.

I bought this guitar spontaneously. Sound is great. Neck is very, very smooth and playable. One of the best I've played. Factory strings are absolute garbage. I beefed mine up with Hard Tension strings. Sounds Nice and Crisp. Changing the stings to harder tension raised the action a bit. No biggie. The guitar sound perfect through a nice pair of 12'' speakers. The reverb is a nice touch. Not great but, not horrible. Add a little delay and this thing rips!. Nice job Yamaha.

I purchased my Yamaha SLG100N at the Guitar Center location in Jacksonville, Florida to fill a whole in my guitar collection left by my unfortunate accident to my tradition nylon string acoustic. I was immediately drawn to the look of the guitar, and honestly didn't know if what to expect. A helpful salesperson led me to a wonderful acoustic amplifier (that's for another review altogether) and I plugged it in and began to finger pick a few familiar chords... wow! Even without the onboard reverb engaged this was he fullest sounding, richest nylon string I had ever heard through an amp! About 20 minutes later I had made the purchase and was on my way home to the project studio to see how she would sound on disc. To make a long story short, I have used this guitar on every recording that I have made since I purchased it. I own over a dozen guitars and this beauty is always out of the case, ready to play.

I have used an SLG100N on loan from a friend of mine and enjoy every aspect of it. Being able to get off in my own little world with the "Silent" feature is a great way to unwind from a long work day and, not bothering my neighbors with the noise of misplayed chords is awsome. Yamaha's quality in their products is second to none (just one persons opinion) and the church that I serve has several Yamaha products. Pricing for the silent series could be a bit better but all in all a great product.
