Yamaha Revstar RS320 Electric Guitar Stock Yellow

Pickups
Designed from the ground up, Revstar features specially wound YGD pickups that are perfectly matched to each guitar. More than 50 prototype pickups were tested featuring different combinations of wire, windings, magnets and base plates. Eventually, a spec was settled on for each guitar model and the Revstar pickup series was born. This model features HH3 pickups with a ceramic magnet and brass baseplate for powerful, punchy tone to match the solid nato wood construction of RS320.
Dry Switch
Designed especially for Revstar, Yamaha's proprietary Dry Switch gives you the versatility of a coil split, but with a tone that's miles ahead. Using a passive filter circuit painstakingly designed to give the perfect frequency response, the Dry Switch filters out low frequencies to give the punch and clarity of a single coil pickup minus the inevitable hum and hollow tone often associated with split humbucking pickups. And because it's a filter circuit, the Dry Switch works on both humbuckers and P90s for a totally unique, usable tone.
Custom Hardware
Inspired by the stripped-down custom Café Racer motorbikes popularized on the streets of London in the 1960s, Revstar's hardware captures the high-performance, individual character of those bikes with a wide range of totally unique, customized hardware. From the unique pickup covers and raw copper scratchplate on the Revstar Professional, to the totally custom floating aluminum tailpiece on the RS502T, each and every component is perfectly calibrated for great performance and unmistakable style—capturing the very essence of a Café Racer.
Sound Image
Inspired by raw power and performance, Revstar's sound is as unique and bold as its aesthetic. Working to evoke a visceral, unbridled power and an individual, organic tone that is made possible only by considering every detail, Yamaha's engineers chose materials carefully and designed custom pickups to make sure Revstar sounds as stunning as it looks.

Required only minor adjustments. Good action, not too low, not too high. Responsive pickups, nice tone. You can put some dirt on it and the tone stays crisp with good articulation, set-in neck. The tuning machines have the smooth feel of precision. Original, pleasing design, gorgeous finish. The guitar has an overall feel of quality and good craftsmanship, an exceptional value for the price.

Minimalistic approach by Yamaha, nothing unnecessary on this Guitar, but whats on and in there is high Quality top notch. Sounds and plays just as good as Guitars 2 or 3 times the price. Thats the great thing with Yamaha, they dont make you pay for the nameplate on the Guitar, they just give you the possibly best product for the money you are willing to spend. The only thing i wish i would have done is to spend a 100 bucks more and go one model up in the Revstar series and get the 420 model, because all but the 320 models have a pull- or dry switch with makes out of your humbucker pickups single coils, and doing that without the hum you can get from single coils! How about that for a variety package! But the 320 sounds great in its own right, so it wasn't a dealbreaker. If you are looking for great Quality and Sound, here it is.
I will be looking at the RS720 Bigsby next.

I watched a review from NAMM 2016 on the Revstar line of guitars and happened to be looking for a SG solid body to complement my ES-335TD. I had recently purchased a Yamaha Nylon Acoustic/ Electric and loved the quality and intonation right out of the box. The RS320 was setup fantastic as sent! This never happens for me. The neck is slim and playability is amazing. I can now proudly say that I am a Gibson and Yamaha Guitar Fan. The Yellow finish is amazing and the simple controls refreshing. Sounds great through my 1990's Peavey Tube 1x15 50W amp.
great guitar i connect it with my roland gr-55 so good

How easy is it to press down on the strings? Mainly on the first 4 frets
There is no way to determine this without playing it. It's set pretty low. Give us a call if you would like some help.877 687 5403submitted6 years ago

Revstar yamaha 320 _ if I order this, would it be set up to gig ready condition like playing action adjustments and quality check?
This guitar does come with a standard factory set up. It would just need to be tuned upon arrival.
