Description
The Yamaha PSS-A50 is a high-quality mini-keyboard inherited from the Yamaha reface series. The reface series is highly regarded by professionals for its outstanding touch, feel and expressive power. The PSS-A50 runs on four AA batteries or a USB mobile battery making it easy to take on road trips, jam sessions or even the recording studio. The included USB power cable also lets you plug into a computer or AC outlet.

Tools to Inspire and Capture the Moment

The PSS-A50 packs pro-level features, sounds and effects—like Motion Effect—in a small body. Its built-in arpeggiator can inspire new ideas, allowing you to create phrases and rhythms at the touch of a key. To help you capture the magic, use the PSS-A50’s Phrase Recorder to loop, playback and record.

Anytime, Anywhere

You can connect the Yamaha PSS-A50 to a home recording setup or a mobile device. Or, when you want to step inside your music and not be distracted by the outside world, simply plug in your favorite pair of headphones. This automatically disables the built-in speaker, giving you the privacy you need.

First the good, this thing is super portable and the sounds that come out of it really sound good, keyboard action is good and even responds to touch sensitivity, also having a button for the sustain is great so you don't need a pedal, and makes a pretty decent midi controller. Now the bad, I was going to use this in my live acoustic setup but when I plug a cable into the output/headphones jack I get a tremendous amount of hiss through my system so it is useless for a live gig. Also, the keys are a little too small for my big guitar playing sausage fingers. Not sure if I'm going to return it or not, might be fun to use for a campfire jam and messing around watching tv but I already have a couple of small midi keyboards I can just plug into my iPad with not much hassle so I really don't need this, maybe I'll try spending a little more and get one of the Reface series keyboards (or maybe just bite the bullet and get a Roland JD-Xi) and see how the sound quality is for live use.

Dead on arrival

I purchased this unit as a blemished open box item. It looked nice, but would not power on with batteries, or with a usb cable. I hope mf tested it before sending it out, but I don't know. Mf was good about returning it. I was disappointed and a little hesitant to purchase again.

This little keyboard delivers more than you might think. It's small, has small keys, has a small speaker that sounds..like a small speaker. The sounds of this keyboard are surprisingly good. The motion effects and the arpeggio are a lot of fun the play with. But plug into an amp and the sounds hold up. This is a surprisingly fun, feature-rich little board. Wish I bought this years ago.

  • This keyboard is great tool for a song writer on the go

It fits in a backpack and has a bunch of usable sounds , for its size it sounds really great , and the touch response keys are fairly dynamic. Because of its size and portability I take it everywhere . Which makes this little keyboard a powerful tool for catching inspiration as it strikes . I even find my self with it in my lap while driving in traffic , when the melody comes , it comes . No matter where Im at , because of this great little keyboard I'm ready for it
