I absolutely love this keyboard - it has a lot of diversity in the sounds it features and the keys are really easy to play and it's very comfortable. The only problem I have with this keyboard is that it is not touch responsive and so it doesn't give the songs I play as much emotion as I'd like them to be. Other than that, its wonderful! I would recommend it to both beginners and experienced players.

  • Lots of features for home studio

As hobbyist songwriters and musicians we wanted a keyboard that would work with Garage Band, but also be a standalone keyboard for dinking around. The PSR 223 meets all of those requirements. Lots of instruments and voices (great selection of bass). The MIDI I/O plugs into our Presonus Firebox and we can also plug the keyboard into an amp. With the accessory kit you get headphones you can use for private practice and you don't need to be plugged into anything. Piano players will miss 88 keys, but for the price I don't know how you can go wrong with this product. We purchased 2 years ago and we're still happy with it.

I purchased this for my grandson (1st birthday) figured people spend alot more money on junk. I really love it and my grandson does as well. My husband is a professional keyboard player and had to borrow this to take to practice with the band, the guys all joked about it but he was able to get buy without taking his full keyboard (s) So have fun with it, learn and then invest in more if needed.

30 + year drummer started playing guitar a few months ago. Have some experience in guitar and keyboards, but definitely at a novice level. Thought about a keyboard and suddenly an amazing deal came across my e-mail! (Merry Christmas to me!) Bought it and have been using it since. The 375 voices are awesome, and the system sounds good in my PA. It's nice to be working old skills and creating new ones. One warning, it does not come with the AC adapter - the Yamaha PA 130. Luckily my Yamaha drum kit (the Yamaha DTXplorer) uses the same adapter so I was in business. Yes, I could have used 6-8 batteries (whatever it takes) but who wants that? You can get the adapter with a 'Yamaha Survivor kit' which comes with some other items, or just purchase it separately.

This keyboard is pretty great- I am trying to teach myself how to play the keyboard, and I love the sounds/beats that were already in. I haven't had a problem with it. It works great! Sounds great!

The keyboard is great for the price. I use it as a Synthesizer because of the large number of voices. I am a drummer and a song writer. I am sending this keyboard into an M-Audio USB device. I am creating tracks in Pro Tools M-Powered and using the voices from the keyboard to compose songs. Great "horns" sax, trumpet...etc.
