Yamaha
Description
Yamaha's NTX1200R is one handsome acoustic guitar designed to offer a feel and playability closer to that of a steel-stringed acoustic. This professional-level instrument is the perfect choice for adding the warmth of nylon-string acoustic tone to your music. The versatile, contemporary styled NTX line is designed with thinner bodies, narrower necks, 14th fret neck joints, and cutaway designs to provide greater comfort and playability for today's steel-string acoustic and electric players. This Yamaha guitar is perfect for adding nylon string tone to a wide range of musical styles from Latin to Jazz, Pop to Rock. Built on the thinline classical platform, Yamaha's NTX1200R acoustic-electric classical guitar features a cutaway, for comfort when playing in the higher register fret positions.

This NTX starts with a solid Sitka spruce top, for warm, balanced tone. The neck features African mahogany, while the back and sides are solid rosewood, giving clear, pronounced tone, able to rise over and through the rest of the band. Rosewood is a tropical hardwood that has long been the material of choice for acoustic guitar sides and backs. Harder and heavier than maple, it provides firm support for the guitar's resonating top and delivers rich, well-balanced overtones. Its warm quality is perfect for nylon string tone. It also has a good balance of fundamental overtones for high register soloing.

The Yamaha NTX1200R also features the A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement), an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise control of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years. In NX Series guitars, this treatment results in a sound close to that of a vintage guitar that has been played for years. The NTX1200R acoustic-electric guitar produces a sharper tone while simultaneously controlling dissonance in the high range. Instruments that have undergone this process have received high marks from a great number of musicians. Their evaluations are nearly identical to those for guitars that have been played for years, and their comments often include terms such as "well settled," "mature," "warm," "excellent resonance," and "clear."

Yamaha's ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) pickup system is purpose designed to offer the most natural, dynamic and expressive electro-acoustic sound on the market. Proprietary multi-layer contact sensors perfectly combine ultra-wide dynamic range with outstanding feedback rejection for the most accurate and natural performance sound. The NTX1200R uses a 2-way system with contact pickups mounted on the treble and bass sides of the guitar bridge. To reduce unwanted feedback caused by vibration the NX Series contact pickup utilizes an additional multilayer damper to ensure the tone is captured in its purest form. Complementing the warm, full mid-range of the nylon-string tone, the System 61 preamp allows individual volume control over the treble and bass side pickups, allowing you to get the perfect blend for your style. The System 61 preamp also features a 3-band EQ for sound shaping and an on-board tuner.

Dressed in a natural finish, this Yamaha acoustic guitar will turn heads and ears with its construction, beauty and sound. And thanks to the pickup system, amplification is a cinch. A form-fitted case is included .

Great product for the price. Very versatile for non-classical guitarists who want to get a great sound with more of an acoustic/electric feel.

The guitars that sound best in my living room do not usually the best when performing amplified next to a piano, bass guitar, drums and horns. This narrow body width is perfect for performing with extremely well balanced tonal range and playability. Every guitar I have owned has had to be played through my Baggs Para DI, but not this one. I go straight into a slave mixer (Almost flat at mixer) with a 12 foot cable and it goes to the board from there and we use in-ear monitors. The tone is almost Earl Klughish and I'm happy. Only downside is bridge and nut radius could match neck radius a little better but they give you a lot to work with for adjustment. I use hard tension so I loose some low end to get the snap, but this does everything that I need to have done.

after trying more than 3 different guitars, this one was the best combining all the features I was looking for: 22 frets, electric-acoustic capability, nylon strings, box resonance, light weight. other guitars may have some of these features but not all of them at the same time.

This is a gorgeous guitar. If you want to add the nylon string sound to your music act, then this guitar gets you there in style. Comes with a custom sound hole damper for possible feedback in loud playing situations, nice hardshell case, straps for the hard case to make it a back pack. Beautifully appointed. Small and thinner body means this guitar is made to be easy to hold while performing, but will not fill up any room if unplugged. The built in pre amp is excellent. Has the ability to tweak the equilizer, which you will need, since nylon strings have a more muddy and bass sound than the sharp tones from a steel string guitar. Like the guitar. Will use it in my act.

Outstanding build quality, solid woods throughout, good elctronics, great sound...mine needed set-up by my tech, thats to be exspected, best crossover nylon on the market for the money, better than many Taylors costing three times as much, nice case,it is a pro instrument..the string spacing is a little tight but I`m starting to like it. Everything says quality.

Nice workmanship and materials. Feels comfortable and smooth to play. If you are a nylon string guitarist you may have to get used to the narrower neck! One of the beauties of this guitar is in the pickups, therefore not a lot of dynamics from the top but does produce a clear sweet sound unplugged. The action was a little high out of the box so I had a local guitar tec lower the bridge! This is personal taste! The intination is a little off at the 12 fret but nothing more than a guitar at this price would usual be. Overall I love this guitar and would highly recommend it
