Yamaha HS5 SG 5" Powered Studio Monitor (Each), Slate Grey

Description
The Yamaha HS5 SG 5" Powered Studio Monitor is the smallest model in Yamaha's revered HS Series. For over 40 years, Yamaha's signature white woofers and flat frequency response have been the industry standard for uncolored, transparent sound. The HS5 continues this tradition with a 5" cone woofer and 1" dome tweeter powered by 45W LF and 25W HF bi-amplified amplifiers, respectively, to deliver clear, accurate audio for high-resolution mixing and mastering in project studios.
High-Performance Components Provide Pristine Sound
At the heart of the HS5 are components carefully selected for optimal performance, including a 5" woofer, 1" tweeter, and sturdy cabinet. The woofer's oversized magnet generates tight, controlled lows and mids, while the dome tweeter's smooth contour minimizes distortion for crisp highs. An advanced mounting system eliminates resonance for pure tones.
Built-In Bi-Amplification Means Perfectly Matched Power
With built-in 45W LF and 25W HF amplifiers, the HS5 provides ample, tailored power for the woofer and tweeter. Bi-amplification also prevents interaction between the drivers, leading to superior imaging, detail, and coherence. The result is consistent, best-in-class performance for any audio source.
Room Control Switch Compensates for Acoustic Challenges
The HS5's Room Control switch helps you overcome common acoustic issues like wall proximity bass boost. Settings for -2 dB, -4 dB, and FLAT response allow you to minimize boominess or coloration for balanced sound in any environment. Midrange EQ and High Trim switches also let you boost or cut specific frequencies to suit your room and taste.
A Complete, Portable Solution for Music Production
For professional-grade monitoring, the HS5 is a self-contained solution. Simply connect to your audio interface or mixer and you're ready to compose, record, mix, and master. Weighing just 11.7 lb., the HS5 is easy to transport between studios or stages and is a highly capable yet compact music production system for home or on the go.

I originally tried these speakers a couple years back when I didn't have a sub. They were nice, but didn't have the low end fullness. Fast forward to now. I had a pair of JBL 305MKII's and added a JBL 10" powered sub. Once I swapped these speakers in place of the JBL's, I heard imaging I never had before and better detail. The fit and finish of these Yamahas is exceptional. They mate wonderfully with the JBL 10" sub too. VERY happy!
Great monitors

I use the HS 5's for my home studio monitoring and mixing. The 5's have less low end than the 8's that I used to own but if you add a subwoofer it sounds great. The HS series has a nice flat response when mixing which is why I chose them for my studio.
More bang for the buck! Great sound and quality.

Great purchase, so glad I went with the HS5 instead of over paying for other monitors. The sound is bigger than the size!
