Yamaha FSX820C Small Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

Special Bracing
Yamaha's FS guitars have a louder and stronger sound in the low-to-mid ranges, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by the Yamaha R&D Division. Yamaha’s engineers have achieved this sound by utilizing analysis and simulation to arrive at the best bracing design without depending on tradition or guesswork. This analysis led to the development of the new scalloped bracing pattern, a new and ideal acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound the Yamaha FS has to offer.
Thinner body
The FS model body is 10mm slimmer than that of the FG body, offering increased comfort and playability with no loss of volume or bass. Having a body that is easier to hold makes the FS more appealing to beginners and smaller guitarists, including female players. In addition, the smaller dimensions and lower propensity to feedback make FS guitars ideal for stage use.
System 66 Electronics
System 66 feature an under-saddle piezo pickup developed by Yamaha. Controls include a 3-band EQ, an adjustable mid-range frequency control, and a precision chromatic tuner for optimum sound tailoring. The system is powered by easy to obtain AA-size batteries that provide a stable power supply for improved sound quality.

Great sound and feel. It has the tone of guitars that go for a $1000. Unplugged and thru an amp are equally impressive.

I have only started playing in the last few months. Started with the little Squire Strat Pack from GC. It was such a piece of junk I only had it a couple of months before I was looking for something better. My research for a good quality yet reasonable priced acoustic keep bringing me back to Yamaha. I know many people will complain that Yamaha is not an instrument company but I have a Yamaha baby grand I bought about 25 years that was the best piano in the showroom of that size when I made that purchase years ago. My experience with Yamaha has been they are very good at all the things they do. Since I wanted something I could amp and pretty I decided on the FSX820C. The guitar has been great. I pick it up every night and play at least an hour. For a beginner I think having a guitar you what to pick every day is a huge service to your learning. If you feel that way about your instrument you are going to learn. I had the guitar delivered to my home and it arrive in great condition. I have not found any flaws in the fit and finish. It holds it's tune well. I have to tweak it maybe once a week and then not much. The strings that came on the guitar sound great to me so I am still using the original strings. I know the action on a acoustic is higher than an electric and this acoustic's action is higher than the little Strat. With my limited experience I can only say it feels comfortable to me and the only time I get fret buzz is when I miss up. Also, I have hook the guitar up to the Squire Front man 10G amp that came with the Strat. Using the EQ on the guitar and the amp I am able to quickly get a tone that perfectly mimics the guitar unplugged. I love this guitar!
