I use this with my drum machine. One for start and stop, and one for fill or change from A to B etc. Works great and very dependable. It is also very hardy compared to another brand I had.

  • This is a fantastic sustain pedal

This pedal IS a sustain pedal. This is a great sustain pedal. I don't know why the other reviewers are saying it's not a sustain pedal. I'm guessing because of the polarity. Here is how to use this as a sustain pedal. 1. Make sure your digital piano is turned off 2. Plug in the FC5 sustain pedal to your digital piano 3. Turn on your digital piano. When you turn on your piano, it's very important that you're NOT holding down the FC5 sustain pedal. DO NOT HOLD DOWN THE PEDAL WHEN TURNING ON YOUR DIGITAL PIANO!! That's all you have to do for it to work. Hopefully this helps people understand that this FC5 IS a sustain pedal.

The pedal I bought does not sustain when you press on it. it only sustains when you let go. Not what I need at all.

I bought this for my MIDI Keyboard just to have something to sustain with, but the polarity was reversed. I did some research to see if there was an easy way to fix this and there was not. It's unfortunate too, Because I really like the way the pedal feels. I will probably have future uses as a foot-switch, but just know what your buying here. it's not a sustain pedal, it's a foot-switch with reversed polarity (It sustains when you aren't pressing it and cease to sustain when you hit the pedal).
