I've been using the Yamaha DM3 with Dante for several months now, and it's been an absolute workhorse for my live gigs. The 16 channels cover our full 9 piece show and 6 monitor mixes and plenty. What's critical to me is reliability - switch it on and it works. The build quality is top-tier — solid, compact, and road-ready — yet it doesn't compromise on features. The touchscreen is incredibly intuitive, and the layout feels natural. Where this console truly shines is the Dante integration. Plug-and-play network audio has made life so much easier, especially when working with I/O stage boxes or routing to FOH desks on big shows. Setup times are drastically reduced, and the flexibility it offers for signal routing is unmatched at this price point. Preamps sound clean and musical, onboard effects are good, and the overall workflow is fast and efficient. It's rare to find this level of power and connectivity in such a small footprint. If you're looking for a compact digital mixer that delivers big-console performance — especially with Dante networking — the DM3 is a no-brainer. Yamaha nailed it with this one.

This is a must have for small but professional audio applications. I also ran a 5 piece band with it yesterday and got great results. I highly recommend this console.

I love this compact board for many reasons including its versatile I/O's, form factor, clean and quiet preamps. The ONE thing that I think was missed is having separate banks/layers for the virtual channels whether they be USB or Dante. It have been AMAZING to have full used of the onboard physical inputs while having control of virtual channels from DAW via Dante or USB. I hope a future firmware update will make this happen for us Yamaha faithfuls.

This mixer has some great features but lots of limitations. Pros: Dante allows easy integration Can record to a usb stick Cons: cannot go beyond 22 Channels Not to flexible From what I understand , this mixer is based on the Line 6 m20d( Yamaha bought the company ) it was a very powerful mixer for it's day but had some reliability issues. The DM3,seems pretty good so far. The main deal breaker for us is no expansion . In this day and age most digital mixers allow for expansion . The idea of Dante is to be able to add devices that are non proprietary but you cannot go beyond 22 channels , the mixer is locked. If you want to go beyond 22 channels you must purchase the dm7 which is megabucks. Unfortunately this will not work for us!!!!
