The A5M A-series Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar features all-solid mahogany back and sides with hand-selected sitka spruce top with Yamaha's original A.R.E. wood-torrefaction technology. The ASM Dreadnought features natural, dynamic plugged-in tone from its onboard SRT2 pickup system to perfectly suit your performance on the stage and its made-in-Japan premium build quality will gratify advanced players' desire.

Comfortable Neck Profile
Extensive research with players, luthiers and guitar techs has given A-Series models, like the A5M, the feel and playability that today’s acoustic-electric players want, whether switching from electric to acoustic on stage, recording a session with intricate open tunings, or practicing at home. These superb guitars feature a straighter neck taper for easier high-fret playing, and hand-rolled fingerboard edges to achieve a played-in feel. Yamaha's A5M guitar comes equipped with Elixir NANOWEB 80/20 Bronze Light strings to deliver a lively tone together with extended tone life that players have come to expect from Elixir Strings.

Simple and Distinctive Looks
The A5M's simple, organic design features wood binding and other techniques that capture the warmth of wood.
The distinctive shape of the pickguard, which stands out when performing, is a revival of the N1000 guitar that Yamaha released in 1975.

Premium Grade
Made in Japan, the A5M is a flagship model in Yamaha A-series featuring Gotoh's renowned open-gear tuners, high-quality binding on the head, tusq nut and saddle, etc.

Great sounding and playing guitar, electronics are dead simple and easy to dial in. Sounds great through Pa/amp and consistent from venue to venue. It's not as powerful as say a martin dreadnought but definitely an adequate and strong sound. If you like the Yamaha tone and are looking for a stage guitar or something for open mics you'll live this guitar. However if you like to play in open or alternate tunings you'll likely be underwhelmed: when tuned down it sounds kind of weak, has less kick and loses its sweet tone. However if you only plan on playing it in standard tuning you'll most likely love this guitar.
