Comments about Yamaha A-Series A1M Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I shopped and shopped to replace my entry level acoustic. I played in the 2 NYC GC's a variety of guitars. Choosing a guitar is a personal thing; you need to find something that grabs you. There are 2 main makers in the acoustic arena: Martin & Taylor. I tried them and was set on a Taylor 214 CE Deluxe. Loved the feel; liked the sound; did not like the high price. I looked at Seagull, Epiphone, Ovation, Alverez, basically all the stores had on hand. A GC sales pointed me towards the Yammies' A-Series. they felt (to me) like the Taylor. Bottom line: I got the A1M. Solid top/lam. sides/ Mahogany. Sounds FULL; setup was great; looks great. I have to applaud Danny in the Carle Place NY location for giving me extra attention when I picked this up. He changed the strings; treated the fretboard and bridge all in the middle of Christmas rush even though the guitar was only on the floor for about a week. On top of this , I got a $50 Factory rebate. If you want a solid top/back& sides: look at the A3. To me, this guitar is still a better instrument than I am a player. After 3 weeks of playing, I have no issues at all. this is a great value instrument

Comments about Yamaha A-Series A1M Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Like it but they say solid did back and sides but it is mahogany laminate. They advertised it as solid back and sides and that is one of the reasons. I bought it. It is a solid spruce top. Please fix your specs Guitar Center.

Comments about Yamaha A-Series A1M Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar for my son, so he would leave my Gibson Songwriter alone.
The guitar has a rich lively sound and good bass response. The bass response would be even better with a bone saddle and nut. Not a major issue and that can be remedied in time.
The preamp controls are awesome and it sounds great amplified.
The construction is impressive for the money. Solid wood, no plywood. The binding looks amazing made out of wood instead of plastic.
Bottom line is that it's as close to a $2500 guitar as you can get while only spending 1/5th of the price.
My son has been playing for a little over two years and plays in bands doing Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden and Metallica and this guitar has actually improved his playing.

Comments about Yamaha A-Series A1M Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was looking for a good steel string acoustic guitar but didn't want to spend $1000 dollars on one . Went to my local Guitar Center and played a lot of different brand name guitars in the $500 dollar range . I finally narrowed my search down to 3 possible guitars , 2 Yamaha's and a Seagull . The 2 Yamaha's are the same model but one of them had a better sound and awesome sustain . I must say though that I very nearly chose the Seagull S6 Original , very nice guitar . This Yamaha I chose has a slightly better sound and the sustain could not be beat . Not only does it sound great but the playability of it is like that of a much more expensive guitar . The action is incredibly low without any buzz. I do have one complaint but it's not really a bad one because I love this guitar . The tag on the guitar said it had "solid" mahogany back and sides . I looked up the guitar on Guitar Centers site and the description said the same . I bought this guitar thinking it was solid wood but it's actually a mahogany laminate. This was kind of a let down for me but nevertheless it's really all about how it sounds and plays . One more thing on the sustain, it just rings for the longest time , really beautiful. As it's ringing it has a sort of slight reverb effect and I can feel it through the back up against my abdomen. I have not found many guitars in this price range that do that .

Comments about Yamaha A-Series A1M Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This replaced my everyday, do everything, go anywhere guitar. Not alot of money, but very playable. I'm very pleased with everything about it. Plays well, sounds good acoustically and plugged in. Sounds nicer than more expensive guitars of other manufacturers.
