VOX

Description

With its drastically improved analog circuitry, the amPlug G2 Clean provides three distinct voices: pure clean, twin clean & boutique OD, for a wide range of classic tones. It also features nine selectable effects with three types of chorus, delay, and reverb. A foldable plug mechanism that rotates 180 degrees and an auto power-off function are additional features that contribute significantly to improved convenience and ease of use. There is also an AUX input for jamming along with any audio player. amPlug G2 is the simplest way to get serious sound; occupying virtually no space, it's an ideal choice for any guitarist or bassist.

Has that Fender-Type Vibe

This is my favorite out of the VOX headphone amp models. Provides a truly awesome clean, plus if you add in the slapback delay setting to the reverb setting you get a very decent Texas blues/SRV sound. You have to be very careful with these units, it is easy to accidently crunch it if you accidently bump it against a chair or table. An excellent deal from Guitar Center.

Cheap plastic, broke almost immediately

This is a pretty neat product but incredibly cheaply made. It is lightweight plastic. I was unplugging it from my guitar and the prong casing cracked. I tried gluing it back together but the next time I used it, it busted into 3 pieces in my hand. I'm surprised at the poor quality for such a pricey little gadget. It's fun to use, though... I only got to use it a few times, sadly.

Simple to use, tones are very nice and sounds very good through my basic over-ears headphones. It still sounds well even using older wired Apple earbuds. Tones seem more expressive and bright when plugged into my Squier Affinity Strat w/loaded pickguard, then getting more aggressive and focused when plugged into un-modded Epi LPS I P90. Apples and oranges, and both taste great! The effects are nice and work well, but the presets (3 presets for each effect) are at levels I would not use. This is minor quible. Lastly, the actual body of the unit is flimsy, as are the three dials, and feels like it's in danger of breaking apart at any given moment. Well, I just need to be careful, because it simply sounds great! 5 Stars for it's tones and effects, -1 Star for shoddy, flimsy and cheap housing. 4 Stars total, and still recommended.

Sound is good. I had the Classic Rock version of the Box headphone amp. I let it sit too long with the batteries in it. Reàlly would like one that made my Strat sound like an acoustic, but it seems they don't make them anymore. May get the classic rock again.

Very impressed with this unit. Sounds great & very easy & simple to use. Keep it & headphones within reach & ready to use any time. The only negative comment is how fragile the unit is. That's what I meant by "weak". Made out of thin plastic which will crack/break if not handled gently or if dropped on a hard surface.
