This unit sounded better than my current more expensive karaoke system made by vocopro. The sound quality is so solid it sounds really good when singing. When it comes to karaoke systems, Vocopro Gigastar 2 is great for your buck. Very, ve r y satisfied with my purchase. Highly recommend.

Board burst into flame after one month of use. Unit was UNREPAIRABLE. No real tech support. Stay away!

I bought one, got it home and one of the audio RCA plugs was broken. Took it back to GC and sent it back to Vocopro and they sent a new one. It worked for a year, then the DVD control board quit working. Vocopro, on longer has the replacement parts. Poor product Quality.
Bring the Karaoke Experience Home!

I purchased a VocoPro Gig Star Pro-II Karaoke Machine because my wife loved to frequent the local karaoke restaurants and other establishments (which required ME to play chauffeur). Thus, I cannot watch the game if I am stuck behind the wheel playing "Driving Ms. Daisy." The only solution was to bring the karaoke experience home. My wife was over-joyed when I told her we were getting a home karaoke machine (what the heck was I thinking....oh yeah, I wanted to watch football). We visited several local merchants. Needless to say, there karaoke systems did not fulfill her requirements. For instance, when my wife attempted to "test" the department store karaoke systems; the machine would not accurately recreate her voice. Specifically, they sounded more like a robot, unstable, and where not crisp. Eventually, we happen to luck up and enter the local Guitar Center located in Lakeland, FL. We were directed to the rear of the store where they stored their karaoke systems. I asked the salesman to take one of their NEW karaoke systems out of the box and plug it up so my wife could "test" it. To our delight, they did just that with no hesitation. I must be honest, when I observed the small speakers that were concealed in the "VocoPro Gig Star Pro-II Karaoke Machine," I was unsure how the audio sound quality would fair. To my surprise, the sound quality was BIG, RICH, and FULL. After my wife hymned a few bars...it was a wrap. Today, my wife enjoys hours of entertaining herself and HER friends on HER karaoke machine and she has left ME to my own devices so now I can watch football UNINTERRUPTED (I shredded that darn chauffeur's hat). I had to draw the line somewhere! All I can say is fellas in parting...get your woman a karaoke machine ASAP and enjoy the 2011 NFL season. Are you ready for some football!

compromised quality

With the all in one concept, you compromise the quality of each feature...none of it is top notch, but you are giving up some quality for versatility. I am very disappointed in the sound quality of the stand alone unit, but what did I really expect? I am using it with an additional PA and much better mics. the ability to unplug the additional equipment and make this thing mobile is the main feature, and it does that just fine. If you are looking for a high end high quality unit, this ain't it...but if you want versatility and all in one convienience, this one is fine.
