Vic Firth Drumsticks 101

Description
Vic Firth knows that no two drummers are the same and every player's body chemistry is as unique as their playing style, which means some sweat more than others. In Vic Firth's ongoing efforts to address all drummers’ unique needs, they have created a formula for a stick finish that will help drummers who have especially sweaty mits.
They're lacquer free with a special PureGrit processing that adds an abrasive texture. This will give you a better grip so you can ditch the tapes, waxes, gloves and special grips.

I have used Pro Mark The Natural for years. When my local shop had these instead. I gave em a try and man did they feel great. Slightly less heavy than the American classic. Only con is durability.

I've played many 5Bs by tons of companies, but this one just does it for me. The quasi sand paper feel helps you keep a good grip even while holding the stick very loosely, and the tips on vic firth sticks just can't be beat. Only downside is once your sweat gets into the wood (maybe after 10 hrs of play time) its just a normal og 5B but I've never had a problem with that
I wouldn't buy this again

The sticks are a little too hard for me. I know they are pure grit but they give me callouses all the time
They are Vic Firth's...the drum stick standard.

Since I began playing the drums, I have used VF sticks. If you see how they are made on the VF website, you will appreciate the effort that goes into their sticks. Of course it's mostly automated, but each pair you get, they are a matched pair. This is the first pair I have bought that are not finish coated, and they are easy to grip, you can hold on to them pretty easily...just a little different feel from the usual.
Exactly what I needed

I've always had the problem of dropping sticks because my hands get sweaty. I've been using these sticks for about a year and, though I have dropped them, it was never due to excessive sweat. They feel really good in my hands and my grip is so much better. These are definitely my go to pair. Highly recommend!
