These Vater Power 5A drum sticks are formed from hickory—the most popular drum stick material. Hickory is dense and strong, so it is resistant to chipping and breaking. Stronger than maple, it also absorbs a lot of shock. As a result, these sticks lessen wrist and hand fatigue while playing.

    I normally use the Mike Mangini sticks, but they never have those in the stores. These Power 5As are basically the Mangini sticks, but slightly slightly thinner. I love having the longer length. A perfect non-signature stick

    I LOVE Vater sticks. The seem to use a denser wood, so the stick is solid and sounds great on ride cymbals. Plus they're pitch paired! This model has a barrel tip- that's hard to find on other brands. A+++
