Overview

Weighing just 1.6 pounds, the revolutionary Trace Elliot ELF is small enough to fit in your back pocket. Its remarkable technology and size make it the most portable, gig-worthy bass amplifier ever made. It’s an ideal solution for any bassist who is concerned with size and weight, but isn't willing to compromise on tone or performance.

Designed in the U.K. and the U.S., the ELF produces a solid, fan-cooled 200 continuous watts RMS at 4 ohms. The switch mode power supply has thermal as well as over-current protection, and the gain knob features a bicolor LED that turns red when the preamp compressor engages. The unique input gain has three regions of operation - uncompressed, variable multiband compression, and overdrive. In terms of sonic quality, the ELF has a clean signal path with simple controls, making it easy to achieve a professional bass tone. The 3-band rotary EQ has three proprietary Trace Elliot filters: low center (80 Hz), mid center (500 Hz) and high center (4.2 KHz). Studio-quality XLR outputs, with a ground lift switch, ensure the tone the player has on stage is the same tone in the PA. There’s also a headphone output to enable quiet practice. The ELF provides all of this versatility in a unit that measures a trailblazing 1.35-in. x 6.75-in. x 4.10-in.—today the smallest bass amp in the industry.

The ELF comes with an embroidered nylon carrying case, an owner’s manual CD-ROM that includes the REAPER DAW and Peavey ReValver amp modeling software, and a Union Jack sticker that reminds of Trace Elliot’s U.K. roots.

Comments about Trace Elliot ELF 200W Micro Bass Guitar Amp Head:

I have to say that the 200w at 4ohms is really conservative. Plenty of power and warmth. Proof that a lot
Of knobs aren't needed. I use this with an EBS 115. This is 4ohms and wow it is hard to believe. 1.6 pounds
For an amp that can fit in the pocket of your bass bag, wow! It also gives the basses I play great character.
You will be blown away. There are amps that claim twice the wattage that aren't this loud.

Comments about Trace Elliot ELF 200W Micro Bass Guitar Amp Head:

I must admit, I was a bit skeptical of what this thing might be able to do. That quickly disappeared when the Trace Elliott ELF came to life. I've put it to the test on a single 410 at 8 ohms, and it rocked! Put it to work on a 210/115 stack at 4 ohms, and it blows the roof off the place. Great TE tone and power to spare. Love it!

Comments about Trace Elliot ELF 200W Micro Bass Guitar Amp Head:

This is an amazing amp, I would put it up there with the Orange Tiny Terror at a much more affordable price. The compression might be the best I have ever experienced, the sound is crystal clear, lots of tonal options for only a 3 band eq. It is loud! Way louder than I expected in such a small package, and the di is excellent.

Comments about Trace Elliot ELF 200W Micro Bass Guitar Amp Head:

Wow! Powerful little amp head with really nice tone! The preamp and eq are pro quality. Have used on a handful of gigs with very satisfying results. DI is clear and natural with no hum or extra noise. I'm a long time Trace Elliot fan having bought a series 6 head new back in 91. It never let me down in 26 years and still works fine although the preamp pot is a little scratchy. The Elf seems to put out more than the rated 200 Watts compared to some of the other brands claims for the same or more. Have used with a Markbass 210/horn where I got a super Hi Fi sound. Have also used with a carvin br118 where the sound was thick, great lows and mid definition. Love the EQ! A little goes a long way

Comments about Trace Elliot ELF 200W Micro Bass Guitar Amp Head:

This amp is amazing. I play with a group with two guitars, and acoustic drums, and even though this amp is tiny, only 1.6 lbs, it had plenty of power to keep up with the very high volumes. The tone is really good as well, not as many eq options as my Ampeg SVT7, but who really cares when it's so portable. It literally fits in my bass case. I got it as a practice/backup amp, but it would easily serve as a primary for any venue I would ever play at. I paired it with a couple of MarkBass cabinets, 2x10 & 1x15, and it cranks.

Comments about Trace Elliot ELF 200W Micro Bass Guitar Amp Head:

I just bought this guitar yesterday and I cannot seem to put it down. I previously played on a Fender CD-140SCE (great beginner's guitar, by the way), and decided to upgrade. There are some cheaper Martin's out there but this is absolutely worth the money. Just the difference in sound quality when you strum - whether it is a light strum or a powerful, heavy hitting of the strings - is remarkable.

I am able to loudly play chords that I was not able to on my Fender acoustic, while keeping the same quality/detail of sound.

Great guitar - very happy I purchased it. And to make it better, there's just something about the smell of a brand new Martin right out of the case.

bought this as a small backup amp. 1.6 pounds, adorable...plenty of power for smaller and even medium sized gigs. mostly amazed at the warm tone for a small digital amp. Has a pre out so that expands the functionality as well.
