Description

The Third Hand Universal Partial Guitar Capo is the only device that can clamp any combination of strings at any fret on any guitar. This creates open-string effects similar to those achieved by non-standard guitar tunings. Changing the length of an open string with a partial capo is fundamentally different than retuning the guitar, since the geometry of the scales and chords does not change, and you can play many things just as you would in standard tuning, but still achieve the sound of an open tuning. Many interesting and very useful effects can be achieved through the simultaneous use of a partial capo and an altered tuning.

This Third Hand Capo allows you to play sounds on your guitar that are not possible any other way. It allows drone-string resonances and chord voicings that are very useful and desirable, and opens up a new world of guitar sounds to be explored by both serious guitarists and songwriters. It is also an extremely useful tool for teaching guitar and allows young children and those with learning disabilities to have a very successful guitar experience.

Bought it for Rylynn, useful, but a little larger than the old style third hand capo. It is good invention anyway.

The new sounds you get from this are amazing. It opens up so many different sounds...especially goodfor songwriters. Takes less than 10 seconds to put on, less than 2 seconds to take off...great for live performances. However, if you are wanting to use more than one configuration during a set, it is better to have more than one of these pre-set, because it does take a bit of time to set the rubber things to the strings you want to be capoed.

At first I thought this capo was pretty useless, until I heard of the guitarist Antoine Dufour. His song Memories of the Future uses one of these and I absolutely had to get one to learn it. Good idea for a capo. Now I can change from open strings and just turn the knob back to barred.
