Sound enhancement - good quality up to a point

A friend gave me one of these a couple years ago. It allows a good cross-stick sound without switching stick ends. For me, that's a real bonus because I can now go from cross sticking to rolls to all kinds of other things without twirling sticks like I would have to to get a decent sound before. The only problem with it so far is that the eye that fits around the tension rod broke a bit. It's now more of a c-shaped slot than an eye. It seems to wear out or maybe the metal fatigues when you change heads often enough. In its defense, I keep snare heads cranked down pretty tight to get the bright pop I like from the snare. I have put it on a variety of snare drums with similar excellent results. If/when this one becomes unusable, I'll be getting another one.

Nice idea. Not good tone.

The wooden version may sound great. I did a 3 hour gig with this out the box and struggled to get a good cross stick sound. Love the idea, this version doesn't cut it. Maybe good for practice purposes.

    Rim Riser is easy to mount but you might use differtent tension rods than the contained ones. When drumming it´s faster to change to Rim Click.

    Picked a few up for my vintage snares to eliminate stick dings and I Love it. Nice the x clicks are like home run bat cracks. Well made product indeed.
