Taylor

Description

The Taylor Gold Label 717e Grand Pacific acoustic-electric guitar offers a masterful blend of timeless tone and contemporary innovation. Featuring a torrefied Sitka spruce top paired with an East Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar delivers a rich, warm voice with enhanced depth and clarity. Its Deep Body Grand Pacific design expands the tonal range, offering greater low-end presence and projection without sacrificing musicality. Complemented by Taylor's fanned V-Class bracing with tonal routing, the 717e achieves stunning sustain, improved intonation and a balanced tonal response. With its gorgeous finish and premium appointments, this model exudes understated elegance while retaining Taylor's signature craftsmanship. To complete the package, LR Baggs Element VTC electronics faithfully capture every nuance of your playing, making this an exceptional instrument for both live and studio use.

Deep Body Grand Pacific Design for Enhanced Low End

The defining feature of the Gold Label 717e is its Deep Body Grand Pacific design, which adds 3/8" of depth to the guitar's body. This increased "lung capacity" translates into expanded low-end resonance and power, enhancing the instrument's overall projection. Whether you're strumming or fingerpicking, the deeper body produces a robust tonal foundation that fills the room. Even treble notes benefit from added warmth and fullness, creating a more cohesive sound. The result is a guitar that projects beautifully toward an audience or microphone while retaining clarity and balance across the tonal spectrum.

Torrefied Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood for Rich Tonal Complexity

The 717e's torrefied Sitka spruce top is heat-treated to unlock a seasoned tonal character typically found in vintage guitars. This treatment enhances resonance and responsiveness, making the top more dynamic and expressive. Paired with an East Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar produces a tone that is rich and lush, with a powerful bass response and shimmering overtones. The combination of these premium tonewoods delivers a voice that's equally suited for intricate fingerstyle playing and bold strumming, offering a dynamic range that's both versatile and captivating.

Taylor Fanned V-Class Bracing for Superior Projection and Intonation

Taylor's innovative fanned V-Class bracing takes the Gold Label 717e's tonal performance to the next level. This patented design strengthens the top for enhanced sustain and projection, while its strategic flexibility allows for freer vibration, resulting in a more dynamic response. The tonal rout further refines the bracing's effect, shaping airflow within the guitar for improved resonance. Additionally, the bracing optimizes intonation, ensuring chords and single notes ring out in perfect harmony across the fretboard. The result is a guitar that offers a powerful, balanced sound with impeccable tonal accuracy.

LR Baggs Element VTC Electronics for Natural Amplified Sound

For seamless transitions between acoustic and amplified performance, the 717e is equipped with LR Baggs Element VTC electronics. This system features an undersaddle transducer designed to capture the guitar's natural warmth and detail without coloration. Onboard volume and tone controls allow for easy sound shaping, while the system's dynamic range ensures every nuance of your playing is faithfully reproduced. These controls are located discretely at the top of the soundhole to preserve the traditional look of the acoustic guitar. Whether you're performing on stage or recording in the studio, the Element VTC delivers consistent, professional-grade sound with minimal effort.

The 717e is the best Taylor I've ever owned. I've owned several others, and in fact traded in a vintage Taylor 615ce when I bought this one. The features that make this one stand out above than all the others are: LR Baggs pickup vs Tayor Expression system, beautiful sunburst finish, great neck, superb playability, and a full, rich, great sound. I always liked Taylor guitars but never found one that I could EQ the ES1 or ES2 expression systems to sound good to my liking. This one is perfect and sounds great through my house system with the LR Baggs. The one I bought has a different color pick guard but otherwise is identical to this photo. Again, a great instrument—highly recommended!
