For drummers who want to vary their backbeats while keeping their main snare in place, the TAMA Metalworks “Effect” snare drum is an exciting option. With small shell diameters, shallow 3" depth and snappy half-size snare wires, these effect snares provide a sharp crack with a very short sustain. And to get the perfect punch, sizzle or snap for any playing situation, the Metalworks Effect series snares include the new Mod-Tone system, enabling smooth and precise adjustment of snare wires.

While many "effects" snare drums are limited to a traditional "side-snare" position, on a stand next to the hi-hats, TAMA encourages more creative placements for the Metalworks Effect snares by including their MC69 single tom attachment with purchase. The attachment and built-in mounting hardware on the drum shell make it easy to mount this snare almost anywhere on the kit. Want a creative option for fills? Mount it with the rack toms. Looking for a percussive riding option? Place it above your ride cymbal or adjacent to the floor tom. Matte black lugs and shell color mean this snare will blend seamlessly into any drum kit and let the eccentric sound do the talking.
