Have been using this drum throne now for about two weeks and it has been very comfortable, easy to assemble, adjust and work with. Feels very solid while playing, did not notice any rocking or instability. Would definitely recommend!

Sturdy chair, sub-par seat connection

Tama always makes great thrones and the 1st Chair is no exception. Easy to set-up/take down and adjust. Comfortable too, but I'm only 160 lbs. My one complaint is the connection of the seat to the post. Tightening the wing screw so the seat cant be easily pulled off of the post makes it difficult to swivel. Also the tightened wing screw eventually looses creating the same problem; the seat comes off the post when you pick it up. Not a big deal in practice situations but I have bigger things to worry about when playing in front of a crowd!
Great throne for the price!

I love how the throne adjusts with a high quality screw and a plastic nut that screws down for extra support. It seems like a very good system.
