This chair is so awesome! it gives you freedom as well, you can move around your kit flawlessly. It bounces as you play for extra comfort. I am so happy I made this purchase and I don't know why it took me so long to get it. I highly recommend this chair!

  • Great support and bounce!

I'm a bigger guy, and this throne supports me well. I love the large tractor seat with bolstered rear to help my lower back feel supported. When I play, I sometimes like to bounce in my throne to match the energy of the song. This pneumatic lift moves with me even better than the Roc N Soc nitro throne. I've also tried Pork Pie and some DW thrones, and this one is my favorite.

  • Only year old... fell apart in the middle of gig last night

The shaft blew out in the middle of a gig last night. Had to make do with an equipment case for my entire second set. I tried to fix it at home today with no success. I could not locate manuals or parts diagrams online. One thing I noticed from the picture on Guitar Center's website is that a part appears to be missing from my throne. I called Guitar Center customer service and the agent was absolutely no help at all. There was a lot of background noise (like she was working from home) and-- I'm sorry-- but I couldn't understand her through her accent. Most importantly, she just wasn't knowledgeable about the product or factory warranty, and she kept going back to Guitar Center's one-year standard warranty. We got cut off at some point and she never called me back. Terrible customer service experience. It is important to note that I did not put this product through heavy use at all. No product from a reputable company like Tama should be failing after one year. I have never had this problem with a drum throne or any other drum hardware in 40 years. Perhaps I got a lemon, but GT and Tama really should stand behind what they sell irrespective of the actual warranty. Bad product. Bad service experience.

  • Not for heavy set people... slides down too much...

Bought this on a recommendation from Dave at my local guitar center in Johnson City NY not for drums but for playing my guitar and I love it. Comfortable and adjusts easily. Disassembles easily too to take along to gigs. Great quality too. Thanks, Dave!

I use this chair as a benchrest shooting chair and it is the best drum throne type seat I have used in years. The shape, cushion firmness and the ease of adjust ability is first rate. If it ever wears out I will buy another one.

Unfortunately the old back rest would not fit the new throne.

when researching throne seats for comfort, that directed me to this product. I read that all these Tama models have an available backrest addition when requested or that its available option. Is this true? If so, does GC carry this particular model with the backrest option and how much would it cost?
