You have to know what it is
I've had this mic for awhile now. It's a good mic. It is definitely a good value for it's price point. But I do not have a fully treated perfectly insulated soundproof booth. I'm recording in my basement. This mic is for guys like me. I'm not spending a grand on a mic. I need a good mic with good detail and clarity that can also help eliminate ambient noises. This does that, without costing me a mortgage payment. The transformer imparts a nice tonal character. Let's call this a pro-sumer level microphone. It is sturdy, multi pupose and simple to use. The case and mic frame that comes with this mic is almost as valuable as the mic itself. In my opinion, the case and frame are a huge bonus with this unit. You can buy better mics, but not for this price. If you are without the resources for laboratory conditions for your music studio, this is a great addition to your mic locker.

Awful microphone
This is the worst microphone I've ever recorded with. I've worked in professional studios with everything from MXL to Neumann and the cheapest of those was better than this. I owned it for a grand total of three hours before I had to return it. I recorded my Taylor guitar and this mic made it sound like a first act. The highs are so outrageously hyped that I had to put a 10db shelf at 5k before it even sounded passable. Would not recommend. There are so many other mics by better brands at this same price point if not lower. Buy one of those

Extremely dissapointed with the quality of product received. Microphone has chunks of metal or something rattling around on the inside. Not sure how this passed quality control.
Works good for band practice and back up mic.

This microphone has recently replaced my long time microphone (a Neat Worker bee) for playing live Zoom events. For the price point, this has been a very nice upgrade in sound quality. There is a fullness and smoothness to the broadcast sound now that was not present in the content from the previous mic. It is impossible to compare this mic to a Neuman or some other high dollar mic, especially since I do not own or use one. This does really do well for my needs in live internet playing and demo home recording.
