I found this product on a massive clearance sale but the quality is amazing worth way more than the price I paid. The only gripe I have is the fact the microphone is phantom power. It really doesn't matter because it sounds amazing but it is just one more step in setup to record my cabinet

I was looking to fill in some gaps in my mic locker and add some more small diaphragm condensers. These are beautifully finished, look great, are hefty and sound great.

Decent mic. Mine had a slight breakup in the xlr connection. Fixed it by tightening all the screws. Can't beat it for the price.

I'm looking for a mic to use for recording sound effects for sound design purposes. What makes the ST131 a good or bad pick for that?
This is a small diaphragm mic and is not well suited to low frequencies.submitted2 years ago

Could this mic be used for voice pickup and used as an out of frame mic for podcasting and sound something like the AKGP170 or an MXL-V67N or 91?
1) I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. " voice pickup" - "out of frame". What does that mean? 2) They're very similar. You don't want a mic to "sound" like anything.submitted2 years ago
