    I'm a retired teacher (and musician), who used the small gong in poetry classes for years. I'm back helping parents in this time of Covid and needed a new chime. The sound is not low and soothing like the sound of the one I purchased ten years ago and the ring is impeded because chime is too close to the wood. I have to hold it upside down to get a decent ring---even then, only the slighted reverb results. Sorry. I suppose for the price, I shouldn't have expected more. I do love Guitar Center.
