Unfortunately, the mandolin will not tune. I've had other (high end) mandolins with no issues. This Stagg mandolin will not tune. You can tune it from string to string, then strum a chord and it's like someone randomly detuned all the strings. It also a a small chip in the finnish (near the pick guard). The chip was so small (pin head size, which didn't really matter) I had sold my mandolins, as I was taking a couple of years off from playing out. I only used them for a few songs. But I felt the urge to play a mandolin, so I thought I'd try this. Oh well. Read the return policy well. It will cost you on both ends !!!!! So much for this instrument. I will not purchase another instrument for GC online again.

I've owned many mandolins with no issues what so ever. This Stagg mandolin can not be tuned. GC does not pay for return shipping. It will cost me $45.00 to ship it back. Then GC will add the cost of the "free shipping" to be deducted from what they owe me. Stick to a company that has free shipping and returns. This will cost me over half of what I paid for the mandolin. I'll stick to strings and picks only.
