This is the guitar I keep constantly at the ready. I love the feel of the neck, and after a little set up to my own needs, it plays like a dream. I bought this for the color, but ironically, I really like the gloss headstock (which I didn't know it had). Squier has really stepped up their game. I absolutely love this guitar!

  • Good guitar if you put in a little elbow grease

Bought this guitar because I'm going to college and didn't wanna risk my fender Strat getting stolen. Overall the frets needed some work though to be fair not as much as I expected, mainly just some sharp edges and sprout though they were surprisingly level out of the box. I'd recommend also getting some drop in locking tuners if you can find them since this guitar slips out of tune quickly with anything past .9 gauge strings. The only gripe I really have with this guitar that would cost more than a couple dollars to fix is that compared to the bridge pickup the neck pickup is really low in output.

  • Awesome guitar I definitely recommend

I had one delivered 2-day air about a month ago. Package arrived in excellent shape, and the guitar was very playable out of the box. The thin body and belly cut After spending the time to polish the frets, adjust the truss rod, and tune the saddles, I like picking this up just as much as my MiM Fender.

  • Not bad if you adjust it a bunch

Leaving aside the "good for the price" thing, this recent offering was set up "too good", in other words, with too low action and too straight neck.So to avoid farting out fretted notes, be prepared to do much of the following. Raise action on the lower two strings a bunch at bridge. Intonation way off on half the strings, you might even need to remove a bridge spring to get the saddle to move further from neck. Pickups sound horrible but really improve when you set them far from the strings (probably too hot ceramics). Finally, you will want to fully loosen the truss rod, but even then your neck relief will be not enough so play with light touch or go heavier than the stock 9-42 strings when you do the inevitable string change. For me it was worth the setup hassle as the combination of 7.3 lbs, non glossy neck and good fretwork (no sharpies) makes this a keeper worthy of future upgrades (pots, pickups and nut as needed).

Hello, I was wondering how will this guitar would work with Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky strings, I've heard from a few people that the guitar slips out of tune easily with thick strings so I wanted to check just to make sure if it would work well. I am new to guitar so excuse me if this is a dumb question.

It's not a dumb question but it does happen. Thicker strings are more prone to slippage. It's physics. You are going to need to experiment. A few opinions are opinions. Not everyone has the issue. You need to see if it works for you.
