Soundcraft

Description

The Soundcraft Signature 12MTK incorporates Soundcraft’s iconic Ghost mic preamps, directly drawn from the company’s top-of-the-line professional consoles, to deliver extraordinary audio quality with high headroom, wide dynamic range and exceptional resolution and clarity with a superb signal to noise ratio. They employ Soundcraft’s Sapphyre Assymetric EQ for perfectly equalizing every vocal and instrumental element in a mix with the unmistakable musicality inherent in every Soundcraft console, plus the GB Series audio routing technology famous in thousands of live venues worldwide.

It includes a wide variety of built-in Lexicon studio-grade reverb, chorus, modulation and other effects and dbx limiters on the input channels. In addition, the console’s multi-track USB audio interface allows any VST/AU/AAX/TDM/RTAS plug-ins to be inserted on any input channel, enabling studio plug-ins to be seamlessly integrated with live performances. Accompanying the consoles are free downloads of the Lexicon MPX-L native plug-in and Ableton Live 9 Lite.

The console is designed to deliver pristine recordings. Both have an ultra-low-latency USB interface that flawlessly captures every channel, which can then be mixed or transferred to a DAW for further mixdown and production. The consoles offer XLR and switchable Hi-Z inputs that enable guitars, basses and other instruments to be directly connected. The Soundcraft Signature 12MTK features smooth, premium-quality faders with GB® Series audio routing with flexible pre/post switching on each Aux, and subgroups with powerful routing and switching options as well as dedicated outputs.

Multi track works flawlessly. Onboard effects are top notch.

I use it to record my Drum set and it works perfectly for that. The build in effects make it easy to use in a live setting where I want a little bit of reverb on my snare drum. One thing I don't really like is that avery function is on the top surface and nothing is on the back. It makes it a little more cluttered compared to my other sound board where the outs and the USB out is in the back.

I was excited about this mixer because I didn't see any bad reviews. However, the one I got had a lot of random noise on the second channel and an unbelievable amount of hiss when you turned up the effects master. I can't believe it should sound like this brand new. So it has to be returned. I will probably try another one since it should be great. I did try a quick recording and the multitrack worked great. So if it didn't make all kinds of weird noises it would be perfect for a home studio. Hopefully my second try will go better.

This is the best small sounding mixer I have ever used. The USB makes this a hybrid mixer with a hands on approach. I would recommend it to the person that works in the box but wants to bring their mix to outside and finish back in the box.

I use this mixer to record an indie music radio show, and track and mix in my home studio. I have always preferred to mix in the analogue realm vs in the box mixes. This mixer truly adds color during mixdown. the pre's are good but i dont think they are really "Ghost" pres. the eq section sounds good, and routing options are great. my only issue really is the lack of inserts. would really be nice to include my outboard gear in my analogue mix. oh well though thats why god made plugins.
