Seymour Duncan

collapse expand iconDescription

The SPB-4 Steve Harris Signature P-Bass pickup uses Alnico 5 rod magnets and a unique vintage-hot coil wind that delivers a forceful sound with pushed midrange but tight bass and treble response. Measuring in at 13k DC resistance, the SPB-4 is more dynamic and sensitive to the Iron Maiden bassists' unique two-finger playing style and drives the preamp section of an amplifier hard without clipping.

These made a great replacement for a cheap old Ibanez bass. Sharpens the sound. Clearer sounding notes from these pups. You can get a nice full low end and articulated higher end with minimal adjustments to the tone control or amplifier settings.

I just installed these in my old Yamaha bass and they sound great. It does really give you a sound a lot like Steve Harris.

Phenomenal sounding pickup, easy install. Only hiccup I had is the pickup keeps trying to drop out of it's shell, I'll need to add some kind of glue I think. That's the only reason they dropped a star for me. Dropped these into a cheap Austin P-Bass copy about a week ago and it really changed the whole bass. Greatly improved mid-range response and tighter, cleaner lows. I play mostly blues and classic metal (Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth etc...).
