Are the rails long/wide enough for this pickup to work on guitars with Floyd Rose tremolo systems?
Yes, the Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB pickup is generally compatible with guitars that have Floyd Rose tremolo systems, but there's a key detail to be aware of: The standard SH-4 JB is designed for standard (narrower) string spacing, which works great for: Fixed bridges. Non-tremolo guitars. Some vintage tremolo systems.. The pole pieces may not line up perfectly with the strings. This can lead to slight volume imbalances between strings. However, Floyd Rose bridges typically have wider string spacing, so for best string-to-polepiece alignment, you should opt for the Trembucker-spaced version of the JB, known as the: Seymour Duncan TB-4 JB (Trembucker) Designed specifically for wide string spacing Perfect for Floyd Rose, Gotoh, and other locking trem systems. If your guitar has a Floyd Rose, go with the TB-4 (Trembucker) version instead of the SH-4. It’s essentially the same pickup with the same tone, just spaced to match the bridge better.
