Seymour Duncan

Description

Pegasus was developed for prog and modern metal players who needed plenty of aggression but required enhanced dynamics, more harmonic richness and defined string separation so individual notes don™t get lost in the mix. Now available in a 6-string bridge version.

Really well balanced non-high output pickup. I really like the medium output and good midrange punch for this but it the highs can still cut through they are just not as shrill as other pickups. Really like it for it's clarity and punch for metal, honestly, I love the pickup also for fusion, coupled together with the Jazz pickup in one of my guitars it is perfect. Another of my guitars a 7 string has a sentient and I believe the sentient is better suited to the Nazgul rather than the Pegasus, if I had to do that one over again, I might have picked up the Nazgul for the 7 string, just because it is made with swamp ash rather than mahogany like my six, much better suited to that guitar body. Love the sound in a Mahogany guitar.

So I picked this up because I wanted a pickup for my guitar that would allow for more clarity and a better output than what came standard in my Custom SE 24. It has great voicing, nice spike to my mids, tight low end so i can get good chunk and when I down tune it does read the notes really well and doesn't fart out. The highs are not as high but they are really clear which is what I wanted. It's not as high output as what I'd like but it's a moderate output pickup so if you're slamming on the strings they will sing. Great at keeping the notes in my chords from becoming jumbled up like alphabet soup. I recommend it.
