Schilke G1L-4 Traditional Custom Series 4-Valve G Trumpet with Tuning Bell Silver plated

The G1L-4 Traditional Custom Series produces a dark, full-bodied, big horn sound, which allows the performer the flexibility to execute a large diversity from brass quintet to orchestral parts. This G trumpet features a .450-inch bore with an additional fourth valve adding a lower fourth to the trumpets range.

This instrument is extremely versatile and ideal for solo playing when a broader sound than a smaller piccolo trumpet is desired. By tuning the trumpet from the bell, the instrument offers an improved feel and superior intonation. In general, the playing characteristics of this instrument will be more open or "free" feeling mainly in the upper register.

Because the tuning bell design offers less bell bracing, the general response of the instrument feels quicker. By removing the standard "S" brace on the front section of the bell, the instrument resonates or "rings", which improves projection.
