Description

The modular SSM-POP shockmount and pop filter microphone system from SABRA SOM will safely and firmly position, larger and heavier microphones. The SSM-POP combines the SSM-1 universal noise-suppressing elastic microphone support with a high precision, 5" diameter, double-face SPF pop filter at a surprising low cost.

SSM-1 Universal Noise Suppressor Microphone Support

The SSM-1 was built with the following premise: "For acoustic problems, acoustic solutions."

Isolating the microphone phsically from its stand, the SSM-1 succeeds in filtering the undesirable noises to an extent of approximately 15dB. Its mounting versatility and adjustability makes it compatible with most microphone sizes and types.

For the correct mounting of the mic. just weave it through the parallel rubber bands of each ring, two by two. It's suitable to any mic. shape (tubular or conical) up to 2" diameter. The central articulated support can be fixed anywhere on the hexagonal rod to compensate for any imbalance of the mic's gravity center.

SSM-POP Pop Filter

The mounting of pop filters is often the biggest challenge for goosenecks, are noisy and lose their stiffness, and other systems do not allow for varying distances or positions. This SABRA-SOM pop filter kit contains a dual membrane (replaceable) pop filter that mounts to the included hex bar. Two hex bars and articulated hex connectors are used to enable you to go "up and over" the mic for positive pop filter positioning and maximum clearance under the mic when singers/broadcasters must read.

The SSM-POP is designed to be used vertically and will accommodate larger and heavier microphones. It adjusts easily and locks firmly into place, allowing for conventional or inverted configurations. It's designed to eliminate both vibrational thuds and breath pops. The significant firmness of the SSM-POP is due to the elastic suspension rings being attached to the 200 mm bar and to the pop filter's 150 mm bar, creating a compact structure with the necessary flexibility to attach the pop filter.

    Purchased this for an Audio Technica AT2020 that didn't have a shock mount. It was a little awkward getting it through both rings, but after working with it for several minutes, I got it securely woven through all the bands. Significantly reduces noise from the floor vibrations, footsteps, etc.

    I bought a few sets to my studio and I am very happy with it... The double layer pop filter is extremely efficient in eliminating 'popping'sound while keeping the natural sound of the voice. The shock mount is steady and works with all my mics... Very versatile system I warmly recommend!
