SKB Cases are simply the best!

I have few of these cases and they are the best available. You pay a little more, but with a lifetime warrantee, it is well worth it. The case itself is as durable as can be. The padding inside is not just a piece of foam rubber. It actually is lined with a material over the padding. The handle is as strong as can be. The strap has it's own channel so when placed on flat ground, it is protected from wear and tear. They interlock when stacked on top of each other. When they are traveling with me, they don't dislodge nor do they make noise. The only downfall I can think of is that you have to make sure your tom mounts fit in the bottom corners. This is more noticeble on the smaller cases because the shapes are proportional to their size. If your drums fit in these, you will simply have the best protection for your drums for life. You pay a little more in the beginning, but you get what you pay for in the end. Simply the best drum cases!

DW Performace 14x12 Floor Tom Won't Fit

I usually love all SKB products. I recently purchased a set of cases to round out my tour rig and the 14x12 floor tom wont fit in the skb hard case. I've locked down the leg clamps and everything and can barely squeeze the lid on top. I don't think it's supposed to fit this way. Every other case fits perfectly. Guess my 14x12 stays home and I'll go get my money back for this case.

    These cases work just fine with my Pearl Optimounts still on the toms. The cases aren't exactly circular, they kind of have two corners, in which you can position the mount part of the drum in one of the corners. So you can buy the exact size of your drums without worrying about your Pearl Optimounts being an issue.

    I had to return this.. the case is just too heavy for my needs.. Instead, I went with a Humes and Berg bag, which doesn't protect it as much, but allows me to fit the kick drum into my back seat.. instead of limiting me taking up all the room via the back.. which gives me more options. However, all of my other cases are SKB.. they are well made and rock solid protection. Plus, they all lock together.. (only from the center, though - which means if you're thinking these will line up using a vertical cart, they will not lock and line up from the one side). I decided to go with less weight and more portability at the expense of better protection. If I was on a tour bus, van, or flying (well, I would have bigger problems), I would go with this case. But it's heavy.. and loses a star because the handles could be on each side, so that you can carry like a marching bass drum. Instead, you have to pull on the handles and have the flat side up against your chest. After two gigs of loading in and out, I found that this was the final straw for me to go with the bag.
