SKB

collapse expand iconDescription

The SKB 1SKB-SC18 guitar case fits most dreadnought acoustic guitars and offers the superior protection of the very same rigid foam inserts found in SKB's hardshell guitar case line, but with the style and portability of a soft gig bag and backpack.

All SKB soft guitar cases feature a rugged, weather-resistant, 600-denier ballistic nylon exterior with a hard-core EPS foam interior to provide more substantial protection than a conventional guitar gigbag.

The SKB 1SKB-SC18's exterior features two zippered pouches, one with numerous internal compartments for organized accessory storage, and an adjustable padded backpack strap for easy transport. The hard foam interiors are plush-lined and offer full-neck support to cradle the guitar neck more securely than a conventional bag. The SKB guitar case also has 3 rubber feet for standing your bagged acoustic guitar on it's side without worrying about it tipping over.

I can store everything I need in this case. It leaves my hands free to carry a drink or music stand if I need one.

  • Good, solid compromise between a gig bag & a hardshell case.

I have several other SKB cases, so I expected this to be better than most other "hard bags" on the market and I'm please to say that it is. Its light weight and protectiveness are perfect for gigging around town. The zippers are a bit less cooperative than those on my Taylor hard bag, but the difference in price was significant. Fits my J-45 very well and the neck support is not only excellent, but also is an accessory compartment large enough for a capo & picks, a feature Taylor should copy.... The exterior pockets are ok, but the one on the neck is not that helpful b/c it's so narrow. All in all, it's a good, solid, lightweight case that provides a practical alternative to lugging around a hard case from gig to gig. No real complaints.

All the protection of a hardshell with the weight and functionality of a gig bag. I have more expensive hardshell cases that I store my guitars in, but this is the case I move around with.

  • Perfect weight!

Bought this case as a birthday gift for my husband. He wanted a sturdier, but not hard-sided guitar case that would protect his guitar without the extra weight. I ordered it online so was not sure it would be what he wanted. He absolutely loves it and said it was exactly what he was looking for. The only negative issue would be the description of it online. I had to guess at which one to buy because there appeared to be only two choices; a hard-sided or soft-sided case and nothing in between which this is. I went for the more expensive soft-sided and lucked out. There was a sale when I purchased it which made it more affordable.

  • Exactly as advertised and works perfectly!

Works well and protects my Martin GPCPA5 perfectly. It also has a bunch of very useful pockets!

This bag has plenty of storage for any accessories to take to a gig, and you will not have to worry about getting your prize guitar damaged enroute. A best buy.

This case would not work with an Auditorium style acoustic guitar.
