Rehearsal spot application in this instance and it's a perfect fit: relatively inexpensive and equipment fits as intended. Won't get moved much at all as band uses sound company, or in-house sound for monthly shows. Use AllenHeath MxWz4 16:2 and 2sp eq (dbx 231s). Wanted rack to hold/organize in rehearsal room - picked up 4sp and have two open slots yet. Not that others didn't have problems but, for us, installed equipment fits well in rack rails and will be suitable on rare occasion equipment gets moved. Regular gigging use would give me pause and I'd likely invest more money. But, again, 4-stars for our intended purpose.

I love this case I just wish that it came with wheels. I installed wheels that lock and that's all it's lacking in my opinion.

  • Nice price but theres a reason - be wary of this one

Not a bad case but one major flaw in the one I have and I only hope mine was a rare occurrence; the holes from left to right do not line up except about every 6th position. I own cases from star case, gator, anvil and calhoun and have never encountered this problem before, which would also explain the price. Granted I was able to work around this but cases are supposed to be laid out according to EIA rack standards and this one is not. Also, the screws provided with the unit are too long to mount anything in the mixer position as they bottom out against the wood underneath the rails. Lucky I had plenty of other hardware lying around and made it work. It would seem they are cutting factory costs by not buying proper left and right rails at the RR factory but that does not allow for the improper spacing of the rails to the wood they are mounted to, that's just poor construction. Doc, Carlos and the guys at GC Madison made me a great deal and overall it's a rack case but if you are looking for perfectly built at spec standards then make sure you thoroughly check this one before you buy it. You should not have to use a drill and tap to mount things in a road case. I'll give the GC staff 5 stars as they always rock, but not this case. Double-check yours for spacing before you buy it.

This rack (with a little modification held my Yamaha mixer and monitors amp just fine. However it should have come with casters. It's a two person move now that equipment is in it. It is really heavy.

Is there a castor wheel kit available?

We don't have a branded kit available. Just put "casters" in the search box.
