I needed a new hard case for a Takamine G Series guitar that I bought 16 years ago. I was nervous abut the fit and durability when I placed the order, although the price was right so I went for it. I couldn't be happier. First, the case durability is great. I don't understand why some of these reviews has me nervous about that, which is the main reason why I am taking time to write this review. It's a solid case. Don't be nervous about that. I have another, more expensive instrument that came with a custom case and yes...that one is like the Fort Knox of cases. That guitar was a few thousand dollars so it darn well better come protected, right?! While this case is not hand-carved from steel to protect against sledgehammers and missiles, it is the closest possible thing to a custom case that I have seen. We have all seen our share of those flimsy cardboard cases out there and this simply isn't comparable to those in any way. Again, I'm confused about people's reaction to the durability. It's great. Next, the fit was surprisingly perfect. This was another concern because I didn't want my guitar to rattle around at all. My model is older so I was a bit worried. It doesn't move a bit and the neck isn't stressed in any way. It literally is a PERFECT fit. Overall, if you need a case for general use, this is a good one. Go for it, especially such a reasonable price.

A good case, could easily be a 5 star case. Pros: It's really spacious for Dreadnoughts, it's deep, really deep...deeper than the average dreadnought body, so you get everything inside safely. It's also nicely lined. Outer material is strong, and works well with scratches. The one I got, I found the metal latches very soft in texture, they bend very easily, if you push the latch down it bends under your thumb. The latch near the base was bent easily in transporting as carry on luggage. It's a hard case, it's suppose to take a little pounding, and it didn't do well here...at least the metal latches.

Disappointed!

By Andrew Smith

Comments about Road Runner RRDWA Deluxe Wood Dreadnought Acoustic Case:

Well after I bought this case I notice the two bottom clips were offset for the locks. Because of that I have to force it to close, but beside that it great case.

Perfect Fit!

By Tony Moreno

from Orlando, FL

Comments about Road Runner RRDWA Deluxe Wood Dreadnought Acoustic Case:

This case was a perfect fit (and it was on sale!) for my Martin DCPA5K. All the clips line up perfectly and I feel like my Martin is safe and sound inside this lovely case. This case can definitely compare to the Gator cases. I also love the very convenient accessory compartment built into it. A great case for the price! I definitely recommend it! One of my favorites! It's also very light and easy to carry. :)

Great case

By John Stafford

from Sacramento CA

Comments about Road Runner RRDWA Deluxe Wood Dreadnought Acoustic Case:

Fits my Seagull Entourage Rustic guitar perfectly. Soft padded interior babies my guitar. Not a hard formed foam interior like the hard shell cases. No aluminum frame to scratch your guitar. The latches line up good and the quality of the case was very good. Good buy for the money.

awesome if you get a good one

By Carlos Alberto Sanchez Bonano

from virginia beach

Comments about Road Runner RRDWA Deluxe Wood Dreadnought Acoustic Case:

i went through 3 of these cases before i found one that fit and functioned properly. the first one, the latches didnt line up or close very easily at all. the second one, the latches worked, but the cradle for the neck was not centered, causing the headstock and tunning keys to go into the inner wall. thats a problem because should it fall the headstock is going to absorb the shock since there is no space between it and the wall. this third one seems perfect. Been at guitar center of virginia beach was really patient and understanding through out it all, so that was great. all in all, if you get a good one, its a great case. road runner should work on their quality control though. because of all this i would never order one of their product online.

Good Quality For a Cheap Price

By Carrie

from Bakersfield, California

Comments about Road Runner RRDWA Deluxe Wood Dreadnought Acoustic Case:

I have had this case for about a year now and it has survived quite a few knocks. The case's latches all work fine. My only issues are after holding it for a while, the handle starts to hurt my hand, and it "ate" my picks, so don't put the picks in the small boxy thing on the inside. Overall, this is a good quality case I would recommend to anyone looking for a low price acoustic case.

Bought this as a gift for my son's Takamine G series. It fit perfectly, snug so it doesn't rattle around. The case is solid, so it should last a long time. The latches are secure. Happy with my purchase because my son is happy with it.

Comments about Road Runner RRDWA Deluxe Wood Dreadnought Acoustic Case:

Picked up a new Fender today. I definitely wanted a hard shell to put my new acoustic in. I was sold on this one immediately. In my opinion this is a top shelf case. I only spent $300 on my Acoustic, but I wouldn't have a problem in the world trusting the quality of this case to store a 3,000 Taylor, Gibson, Takamine, etc etc
The latches are solid, and line up perfectly. The cary handle is beefy and feels properly secured. The lock and keys function properly and are a nice touch. I am completely satisfied, and will be looking to go with this brand again when im ready to add another guitar to the collection. Five Stars ***** Thumbs-Up

I bought this for my husband and I was so excited for him to get it, I gave it to him 22 days before Christmas! The lining is soft, and he really like the added feature of the hide away box inside to store his picks and capo. It also comes with a key to lock it if needed. Great item for the price.

Comments about Road Runner RRDWA Deluxe Wood Dreadnought Acoustic Case:

I would have given this product 5 stars, but I was less than impressed with how it was packaged. I had this shipped to my home and to be honest, I'm amazed I got it. It was shipped only in it's original box. Cheap tape was used to seal it up. When I went to bring the box into the house, the case slid right out onto my pavement sidewalk. Thank heavens it was sleeved in a protective fabric or it would have been a scraped up mess.

Overall, this is a very nice case. Perfect for transporting a guitar or for storage. I don't know that I would ever check this as luggage on a flight though, it's not that secure. Either my Fender CD140S and Sonoran nicely fit in it. I lucked out and got it at a great price on Black Friday, but even at it's full price, I think it's a good deal. Just go to the store and get it if you want to be sure it arrives undamaged.
