Sometimes, when you buy something, it has defects. Not everything is perfect...take it back and get a new one! Also, a LOT of times, people don't take care of their CDs (scratches/fingerprints) and that's what causes their skipping problems. I've had my Stanton C.502 for a week now. (I bought it to replace my 13 year old Gemini CD players, which had a lot of trouble reading my CD-Rs.) I don't use it for DJ work, just home entertainment. So far, it's been working just fine! It plays the CD-Rs I've burned on my stand-alone CD recorder AND the CD-Rs I've burned on my computer with no problem. I give this Stanton C.502 DJ CD player a thumbs up!

I purchased the Stanton CD player to replace my Numark CD player. The first Stanton lasted about 4 months before it began to skip songs. It will not read CD R cd's. The songs will skip and it will play the same part of the song over and over. I mailed it back to Stanton for repairs and they fixed it. As soon as I tried a new CD R cd it began to skip. I mailed it back and they mailed me a new Stanton C.502. During my first dj job the song was skipping again.

I tried American DJ just to try I had Nightmares. Stanton is better made all around. Sony insides,Sony is orginal tech on CD players. I have 4 others, I wore out. This C502 seems to be holding up very well. I play in extreme DUST conditions. I can load up a CD with high quality Mp3s over 80 and play for hours never open the drawers and keep it all covered. You can pan thru your list of songs, and go. The seamless loop is a true seamless loop. Works like a charm everytime. If you don't take care of your CDs you will have trouble. Stanton seems to play most any CD burnt by any program. Even the ones that are really scratched by the dust. Others have troubles, they are too picky. Sure you could get a bad one... but never FEAR STANTON should be your GEAR!!! 28 years of DJ experience Play for 500,000 yearly

I bought this to upgrade form my cassette player to CD to play music bettween sets on my PA. I do not use any of the scratch or bending functions i just pop in a CD and go get a beer. I have never had problems with it using it in that capacity.

We picked up one of these for a DJ job. Just a simple job, play CDs for a dance competition. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!! After four songs, the player stopped the music, returned to the first of the song, and started over. It did this to factory CDs, professionally cut CD's and homemade CD's. It happened on 13 different discs. The sorry excuse from the store was "sometimes these can be very sensitive." Isn't that what the anti-shock is about? I can't recommend Stanton to anybody. You're really taking your chances.
