Restock Bogner Alchemist Series 112 40W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp Black

I got one of these in my shop last week and in the final analysis it needed 2 12AX7's and some tube socket cleaning. One of the tubes was cracked by the customer so only one tube was actually problematic. I did get to put this amp through it paces however and it screams and is clean as a bell depending on how you set things. It is well constructed and easy to work on no thanks to Line6 who offer no outside support at all. The amp boards are so well identified and marked that needing a schematic is not really necessary as long as you know something about electronics. The only thing I don't necessarily like is that it employs a switch mode power supply which is not real evil in itself but if that thing ever pops, they are difficult to repair. The wide variety of tone settings and sheer power put this amp above most other amps I have had the pleasure to rip apart. Nice amp, now I have to go and get one for myself.

Amp sounds fantastic. The Celestion speakers give it that warm, deep tone. I have no idea why anyone would dare call it muddy. Very clear with lots of tone options. The clean tones out of this thing are crystal clear and the delay and reverb sound incredible. The gain on this thing is fantastic too. Lots of tone options here as well. You can get a crunchy/bluesy rock tone or crank the gain for a unique metal sound. Very portable, solid construction, and I love how the amp castors just pop in and out.

I bought this amp at GC for $500 bucks! Heckuva price! Bogner has good reputation. But the amp has a muddy sound, which some people have described as having a blanket over it. it will sound good in the store, but get it home after a week and you will see what I mean. I have right now side by side in my bedroom the Bogner Alchemist and the Blackstar Club 40. The Blackstar has more clarity, and less buttons to fool with. Bottom line......Bogner.........a good amp, but put your money elsewhere.

This amp is fantastic!!! I own it and I love it. Distorted to clean it sounds incredible.

First off, for the price this amp's sounds can't be beat. I wanted something that could do jazz to metal, and I got it. I play with a Jackson Soloist, and the cleans are creepy sounding (in a good way) and the distortion is brutal. My brother who plays with an AM. Strat says he loves the bluesy tone more than on his Fender Deluxe Reissue. However, I've been through two of these amps in five months. The first time the pre-amp came loose and the footswitch stopped working. Now, the channels switch randomly and quickly without touching the amp and make a loud buzzing sound when doing this. When looking inside, the tubes were loose, after fixing this the problem still happened. If the next one I get replacing this has an issue, I'm done with the Alchemist...

This amp is just incredible...easily one of the best I have ever heard. Lets begin with the fact that when I plugged in, the tone was immediately so impressive. I didn't have to do a lot of tweaking right away to find a "sound." But, eventually I wanted to. So, I dialed in what sounded like at least 5 different dirty amps. Then, I worked on the clean channel, which blew me away. Delays are top notch. The amp is bass heavy, so I roll off the bass quite a bit. The reverb and delays give you a lot of options. It looks cool and sounds superb. Easily one of the best amps out there.
