Introducing the Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit

Alesis Nitro Mesh Electronic Drum Kit Demo

Alesis Nitro Module Introduction

The Nitro Mesh Special Edition is an 8-piece electronic drum set that provides an unparalleled playing experience for drummers of all skill levels. The Nitro Mesh Special Edition features tunable mesh drumheads that deliver a natural, ultra-quiet response for practicing day or night. At the heart of this kit is the Nitro drum module with 385 high-quality drum, cymbal and percussion sounds and 40 pre-configured drum kits to inspire your creativity. An 8" dual-zone mesh snare pad enables expressive rimshots and head strikes, while three 8" mesh toms provide a fast, dynamic response.
Practice Day or Night With Near-Silent Mesh Heads
The Nitro Mesh Special Edition's tunable mesh drumheads offer a feel that's nearly indistinguishable from acoustic drums, yet produces little more than a whisper of sound. Now you can build chops and work on new techniques anytime without disturbing others. The mesh heads are also less prone to wearing out drumsticks compared to rubber pads.
Explore a World of Sounds
The Nitro drum module gives you access to 385 drum, cymbal and percussion sounds to create your perfect kit. It also features 60 built-in play-along tracks spanning multiple genres to make practice more engaging and help build your timing. An aux input lets you connect your mobile device to play along with your favorite songs.
Complete Kit With Quality Hardware
The Nitro Mesh Special Edition comes with everything but a drum throne. It includes 10" crash and ride cymbals, a hi-hat controller pedal, kick pedal and a durable 4-post aluminum rack. All cables, a power supply, drum key and drumsticks are also provided for a complete playing experience right out of the box.
Highly Connected for Recording and Virtual Instruments
The Nitro drum module features USB-MIDI and traditional MIDI ports to connect to your computer for multitrack recording in popular DAW software or to trigger virtual instrument sounds.

I would buy this set again
It is a great set for sound and practice.. I have a 5 piece acoustic with 4 cymbals and high hat. I bought this set so I could practice without disturbing anybody with noise. I have it out in the yard in a shed and all drum heads, high hat and cymbals are very quiet no matter how hard I hit them...However the bass pedal and the surface in which it strikes is NOT very quiet...My wife says,....even in the house it is annoying....It sounds like someone is playing basket ball...all in all it is a great set for the money. I would recommend it if you live alone...Carl

Prepare to aggravate your apartment neighbors!
This kit gets great reviews for the most part and I was quite disappointed to find what I actually got. Guitar Center where I purchased it did not have any floor models set up so I just bought it to give it a try, since it could be returned within 14 days, although there was a "15% restocking fee(about $57.)" The drums themselves are quite small and nothing at all like an acoustic drum kit in placement or radius so for anyone over 5' 5" this is a difficult kit to be scrunched up behind. I'm 6' 1" and can say a teenager or other beginner of smaller stature is who this would be best suited for. Onto the sounds themselves, out of about 40 different kit options most are quite cheesy and primitive in technological advancement, I'm thinking 1991 is a generous time frame for their level of real drum-mimicking sound quality. I did find a couple of electro/industrial type sounds I liked. Next, the volume through headphones is quite limited. I listen to music on my earbuds at a louder volume than this is capable of! Next, the rims of the snare and toms are so deep and protruding that they're nearly impossibly not to hit when you're working with such tiny drums. All this aside, I would have kept this kit as a practice tool in my apartment for when I can't get to the rehearsal space as often as I like if it weren't for it DISPRUPTING AND AGGRAVATING MY NEIGHBORS!?! Now keep in mind I only used it through headphones so no amplification was involved. Even so, the sheer impact of the kick drum getting the rubber kick pad apparently "shook the pictures" of the walls of a neighbor in my building not even directly under or next to me!! I got two complaints from two different neighbors in one week, saying it sounded like I was pounding on the floor. Keep in mind, they can't hear the other drums so it doesn't even sound like beats, just annoying home improvement but daily and erratic. I tried reinforcing the kick pedal, adding another layer of carpet under it - nothing helped.

I bought 2 sets and ordered a 10'pad snare. 8' snare is too small for a dual zone snare. Love the set for practice and rehearsals. Will be taking it on the next 3 gigs this week with a Kat Percussion pad added for cowbell, etc: Highly recommend!

I got this for my son, and he's loving it. In just a couple of weeks, he already learned to make some beats and can operate the module better than myself. So it's already doing its job well for learning. I probably wouldn't use it for serious performance, however. #sweepstakes

I am a complete newbie on the drums. This kit has everything I need to begin learning the drums, including an electronic component that challenges me to do better. I can play quietly using headphones, so I do not disturb my neighbors. It's a great kit!

Can you use a double pedal with this set and does the sound pick up?
If you can fit two pedals so they hit the trigger as close to center as possible it'll work. If not centered properly it won't trigger The issue is how wide is your kick pad. I would say no. Take a look at the pad on the Roland V-Drums TD-1DMK as an examplesubmitted2 years ago
