Remo

collapse expand iconDescription

The Remo Silentstroke drum head is a breakthrough product allowing drummers to practice quietly without sacrificing feel. Remo developed the Silentstroke series to provide drummers with an alternative to rubber practice pads that feel unrealistic and dampen shell resonance. The Silentstroke 15" drum head is constructed from a durable yet pliable mesh material that dramatically reduces volume while retaining the responsive quality of traditional drumheads.

Practice Day or Night Without Disturbing Others

The Remo Silentstroke drum head decreases volume by over 70 percent compared to a standard single-ply drumhead, making it ideal for practice in apartments, townhomes and other shared spaces where loud noises are prohibited or discouraged. Drummers can now practice their craft on a full kit during off hours without worry of bothering roommates, family members or neighbors.

Experience Natural Drum Feel and Shell Projection

While rubber practice pads muffle tone and feel unnatural under the sticks, the Remo Silentstroke drum head provides a familiar springy response that allows drummers to work on technique and build muscle memory. The open mesh material also allows the unique tonality of the drum shell to resonate, enabling drummers to achieve a balanced, full-kit sound at a whisper-quiet volume.

Prolong the Life of Performance Drum Heads

The Remo Silentstroke protects expensive performance drum heads from damage during practice. No longer is it necessary to tape up drum heads or place bulky dampening materials on the playing surface that can mar the drumhead. The Silentstroke series is a comprehensive solution for quiet practice that leaves performance drumheads fresh for gigging.

Highly Durable and Available for All Standard Sizes

Remo built the Silentstroke 15" drum head to withstand the demands of regular practice. The sturdy mesh material is tear-resistant and long-lasting. Remo offers the Silentstroke series in diameters from 6" to 24" to suit the needs of all drummers and standard drum sizes.

ONE year! and I can't even see any visible signs of wear

Just DO NOT - I repeat , DON"T use regular wood tipped sticks -New Nylon Tips will not do any damage if kept in perfect cond.- ! year , same sticks , only sticks. I do not see any difference across the entire surface and if gently cleaned occasionally - Mine appear brand new . Litterally 1000's of hours

12" silent stroke head doesn't allow masking tape to stick

The 12 inch drum head from Remo silent stroke doesn't allow masking tape to stick to it. I have the 13 inch, 14 inch, 16 inch and 22 inch bass drum and I'm able to stick the blue masking tape to them, to add sound pressure level and tone. I've tried two different 12 inch heads, and the tape just crawls up on its own. Remo CS has no idea why either.

I have an Alesis but want to play my Gretsch. I live in an apartment. These heads are quieter than the Alesis. Great investment.

Perfect fit for any 12" snare to practice in silence, put a trigger on it to use it with a drum module or for the Roland PDX-12 for head replacement. Great feeling and rebound. My Roland PDX-12" pad had the head broke, burnt by a cigar, and this head was the perfect replacement for it. recomended!

  • Way better than OEM heads

Replaced the stock Alesis heads on my Strike Pro SE kit. These Remo heads feel way closer to a real drum head, then the Alesis ones do. They offer more bounce, and are a way more lively feel. I feel these were a good investment, and I'll continue to use them in the future.

I used these to convert my deccabons to electronic. I kinda have quite a huge acoustic kit and replaced all my heads to silent strokes and added triggers. These competed my whole kit instead of using Roland pads. Now, my e kit is my acoustic kit! No more adjustments regarding size.

  • Great for quiet play
