Used these when they 1st came out. Loved them then. Love them now. I usually switch between these pinstripes, or emperor.

I've used pinstripes for 25 years. Why, that's just what my teaches used. I've also always used the external rings that lay over the drumhead. I though I would give this a try so I ordered a 14". I first put on my snare, and oh my gosh! The sound I've been wanting was there. So I had to try it on a 14 x12 tom with a Remo ambassador on the bottom. Again OH MY GOD! That's it! It sounded so much better than a pinstripe and no external ring to fall off. After hearing this the pinstripe with the ring sounded like a cardboard box. With the external ring off of the pinstripe it did sound a bit better but it had a ringing that I could never get away from. But with this new knowledge I will be changing all the heads out to these. Go ahead and buy one. Give it a try on your set. This is not the most popular head but maybe it should be.

  • Just the sound I was looking for. Darker and short sustain.

The Powerstroke four is everything I was looking for. The clear drum head gives my set a better look than a coated head and the sound is awesome. Just the right amount of tone with short sustain.

  • Good product.

Just started playing a couple of years ago. Changed heads a few times and so far these are the best sounding for my kit. Short sustain, which I like. Doesn't sound like your hitting a gong.
