This was my first ocean drum and I really fell in love with the concept of the idea of having an instrument that can create wave like noises just as if you are on the sea. I really enjoyed this product because it is able to generate a lot of musical creative expression and is also beautiful to look at. Unfortunately, I will be returning it in exchange for a 16 inch drum, which I think is the perfect size for this kind of instrument.

This is great for filling in the higher end of the sound spectrum. I use this with my 48" gong and other percussion instruments and it fills in very nicely. Gotta watch your ears though as it is quite loud.

it was horrible for anything other tan a bad school band

This drum is a good quality drum and has a great sound. I will be working it in to the worship songs at my church. It has a very unique sound to the music. I am very well pleased with this drum. I would definitely recommend this drum if you are looking to add a different sound to your percussion.

My wife wanted an Ocean drum after seeing a youtube video of one. I ordered hers for xmas and its one of the best giftd she got.

I love this drum! Too bad it's a gift for a yoga teaching friend. The ocean sounds will provide great ambience for her classes. The drum is surprisingly loud (wave sounds), but can be tempered with your palm flat across the bottom head, or your thigh if seated. It beats any rain stick, because the sound can be maintained indefinitely. The 16" model is perfect. Pretty good Middle Eastern drum sounds, as well.
