Amazing!!!

I've had these heads for about a week now and I want to say that they are incredible, when I ordered them I was pretty skeptical I thought they would be the same as heads I've used before, but man was I wrong when I played these I was just blown away they provide just the right amount of tone and attack and they feel great they have a really bouncy feel at first it was a little weird, but after a couple of minutes you get used to it, I recommended these to a relative who is a professional musician and he recorded the band's second album with and said they are great for playing live and in the studio too. These heads look great, sound great and feel great I would highly recommend them to any drummer I meet.

not what I expected

I bought this drum head pack a little while ago(coated standard), and just got it recently.and I must say that I am fairly disappointed in how they sound... it might be that I have a cheep drum set, but that can't be it entirely. I must have spent 4 hours tuning these heads to get the sound that I wanted. I tightened them, loosened them, checked to make sure all of them were equally tightened, loosened my resonant heads, tightened the res heads, REMOVED the resonant heads, duct-taped little pieces of rag to the top, and still I cannot get the sound I want. prior to these I had some old Powerstroke 3s on my set, and I think that I'm going back to those, I prefer their darker sound and shorter sustain, as opposed to the long sustain and warm, almost bongo-like sound of these ambassadors.

Swapped out old Tama and PDP clear resos with these and new Ambassador X batters. I'm in love with my drums all over again!

After much research I bought these heads to hopefully make my Tama Rockster kit sound more expensive. It worked. My toms now have a longer note with a deep tone. My 12" tom was hard to tune before with another brand of head and it just had a thud with no sustain. Now it sings like the 10" and 14" suspended floor tom. I may go with emperors next time but I'll stick with these for a while.

I've been playing for over 50 years. Over the years I've experimented with all kinds of heads. I recently bought a cheap set of drums I can leave at my band's practice space, and the first thing I did was replace the heads with Remo Coated Ambassadors. The sound improved 100%. They don't sound like a cheap set of drums anymore. Just the right mix of attack and warmth. We've done a little recording, too. They mic up great without a ridiculous amount of overtone. After all the experimenting, I'm back to the classics.
