Great security blanket backup

Sounds good, seemed to drive my Marshall 4X12 at a decent volume. I don't run my amp too hot anyway, opting for a decent stage volume then I mic the amp to boost through the PA to spread it more evenly through the venue, rather than blasting in front of my amp and my volume falling off to the sides. So this amp was sufficient for that volume level. Lots of surprised looks when I showed it to my bandmates. The only issue is that the EQ switch between FullQ and Vintage has virtually no effect on the EQ. Not a deal-breaker, but why put an ineffective switch on the unit? I would not use this as a full-time amp, but having a credible backup that travels to every show under my truck seat definitely makes me worry less about the inevitable Marshall tube amp mid-show breakdown. No problems with this amp for years, but I feared the mid festival amp problem with the only option being to go from my pedalboard direct to the soundboard. The Quilter gives me a professional back-up option.

I bought this when my 100w tube head developed problems I couldn't fix and I needed an affordable replacement fast. Technology has come a long way in creating these portable amps! I can't believe how small this thing is, but it powers my 4x12 cabinet easily. The signal flow chain map printed right on the chassis makes using the Interblock completely intuitive. I use a lot of pedals and the Interblock accommodates them perfectly. In fact, I think the Interblock sounds warmer, more versatile, and just better all around than my tube head. I'm not even worried about repairing/replacing it now. I had never heard of Quilter before but I plan to check out their more powerful amps in the line further down the road. I will say this: it's weird not having a power switch for this thing and having to physically plug it in and unplug it is not convenient. But it's not like this is a hidden flaw. You can see right in the photos that that's how it set up, so I don't feel cheated or anything. It just turned out to be a little more inconvenient than I thought it would be. But for an amp this good it's worth it.
