Bad design! The clips that hold the straps to the wires pop out of the slots. Happened over and over during a concert. Super aggravating. Don't buy this piece of junk

I needed a replacement snare quickly and found this at my local guitar center. The snare sounds fine, but the strainer tension straps are USELESS. Works for about 5 minutes and then the metal clip slips right through the hole. If you buy this, make sure you use your own string, plastic, etc.

This is the best snare wire solution out there, period. I use these on all of my snares. They are worth the time and money to replace your factory snare wires with these. Even my DW Collectors series snare wires have been replaced with a Custom Pro Series Brass Snare Wires.

I bought a 13" 24 strand for a ocdp 13x7 maple ash snare. I heard the difference right away. It sounded brighter and crisper than normal snares. Other puresound snares sound just like any other good snare. But they are built very well and that's what you are paying for. I have put puresound snares on all of my snares except my ludwig 13x6 supralite snare. I kept the snares on that one because it sounded great. I only changed the head. I have a ludwig brick, and a ludwig supraphonic 70s snare and I put a 30 strand on them. My theory is the more snare strands the fuller sound you will get.

I run Gibraltar 42 strand snare and sling snare with 3 setting on butt plate.... the more wires the fuller the sound ! let the throw off and butt plate do the work.
