D'Addario Core: How to Choose a Drum Stick by Genre

Description
ActiveGrip is a heat-activated grip coating that becomes tackier as a players hands sweat and their body temperature rises. Unlike other grip alternatives on the market, ActiveGrip doesn't tear up players hands or cause restrictions to range of movement or technique. It applies thin like a traditional lacquer, adding no additional diameter or weight to the stick, and it doesn’t come off onto player’s hands, cymbals or drum rims.

I love these sticks. I have to use 7as due to arthritis--the 5as just kill my joints. These are by far the best 7as I have found. The weight of them is perfect as-is, they're nicely balanced, and they truly do stay in your hand much better than others due to the active grip.
I love the ProMark Active grip sticks!!

The Active Grip Rebound sticks have become my favorites! Especially for gigging. I haven't dropped one yet and the feel is great! I use 7A's for small venue gigs and the 5A for gigs where a little more power is appropriate. The coating doesn't peel off like the "dipped" sticks and provides a solid cross stick sound when using the butt end(unlike the "dipped" or taped sticks)
I would buy this again

I like them! The active grip works well and is not that obvious - not sure about the all black sticks yet. Don't see it rubbing off onto cymbals or drum heads - it does chip away as the stick does along the shaft as to be expected.
