I didn't want to buy a bigger mixer so I was searching for a splitter to hook up all of our drum mics. These did the trick perfectly; I simply paired the lows and also paired the mid/high to the same channel so the frequencies complimented each other the best.
Exactly what I wanted

Live: I use a 4x12 Randall cab and a 2x12 Mesa cab into a Mesa Single Rec. (It sounds killer when rehearsing). Issue: When playing live, the sound engineers usually only mic one cab (Randall from what I've seen); so the Mesa 2x12 doesn't even go through the front of house. Question: Would this Y cable be ideal to mic both the 4x12 and 2x12, blending the Randall and Mesa cab into one channel on the mixing board?
It would be ideal to use two mics as you say. The cabs have totally different sounds and I think you would be better off running into two separate channels.
