DDJ-SR2 Official Introduction

Description
Performance Pads
The Pioneer DDJ-SR2 has Large rubber performance pads located below the big jog wheel provide hot, cue, roll, slicer and sampler functions. Each soft-touch rubber pad illuminates in blue to enable users to tap the pads quickly for each effect, with the output volume varying depending on the strength of each tap.
Pad Plus
By activating the new pad plus button, the functions of the performance pads are transformed, converting the four function buttons into hot cue roll, trans, combo FX and sampler roll. This enables DJs to trigger multiple effects with one button, and automatically sync samples and hot cues to the beat. The DDJ-SR also features a beat indicator which gives a visual representation of the beat.
Big Jog Wheels
The DDJ-SR2 features two large jog wheels for precise scratching and mixing capabilities. The resistance for each jog wheel was fined tuned to provide users with the best feel and the shortest latency.
2-Channel Mixer
The built-in 2-channel mixer on the DDJ-SR2 is ideal for scratch performances. The mixer can also be used with four decks using the deck select buttons located on each side of the controller. In addition, the unit features a cross fader reverse switch to enable the left and right decks to be controlled from opposite sides.

Great sound and functionality
I am a DJ and I have my big rig (Pioneer CDJ-900s and the Allen & Heath DB2 Mixer in a coffin) that I would lug around for events big and small. I then went to the Pioneer DDJ-SB for smaller events but the sound was nowhere near the quality I'm accustomed to even plugged into my QSC-K12s. I just did an event last week with the DDJ-SR2 and the difference in sound quality was as different as night and day from the SB. I've never had a problem with my system crashing (knock on wood). I run my Serato via my Apple Pro Book. I'm a huge fan of Pioneer and Serato. I've used Serato for nearly 10 years and Pioneer since 1996 (CDJ-500s). The DDJ-SR2 is a great size and is very stable and well made. The layout is typical Pioneer, simplistic and well designed. I look forward to using the DDJ-SR2 for many years in a myriad of events. Nonetheless, I still love my CDJ-900s and DB2 and SP-1. I'll be adding a QSC-KSUB to the mix very soon. It's good to have options.

Dont Do It
I love the function and capabilities of this controller when it works but it has serious issues with the jog wheels. These issues have been discussed online by many people and Pioneer has no solution. Basically, depending on your environment (home, outdoors, club) the jog wheels will sometimes not react to touch. You can put your hand on the jog wheels to stop the song but it will keep playing. Usually if this issue occurs, you can place your other hand on a metal surface and the jog wheel will work. The biggest problem is it is so random. Pioneer states it's a grounding issue but it's happened to me while using the same outlet. One day it works fine then the next day it doesn't work at all.

I get allot of noise from this. Fairly high quality cables throughout. I had a fairly long run to my mixer so i bought some nice 25' mogami XLRs to traverse the distance, and still very noisy. My turntable grounded to it. Both in phono mode. Does this need to then be grounded to something. Say my mixer? My particular mixer doesn't have a ground lug, but should i ground this to my mixer, or somewhere else?
